SEA TAC?

Some have reported "issues".
Posted By: FatCity67 Re: What's up at - 08/11/18
Someone tried to steal a turbo prop plane and crashed it.

So supposedly now it was Forced down by two F-15s and crashed after the unauthorized take off.

Great title!

Link with twitter video of the plane

Also happened when I was a L/M on 130’s in the AF.....

C-130 stolen
My take away from this was the F15's were on top of this idiot in short order.

Kudo's to the Air Force.

Just drove by Ketron. No sign of the plane, Q, or Trump. Looked a bit smokey with the haze.

Betcha he passed through TSA with no problems......
Posted By: rockinbbar Re: What's up at - 08/11/18
Heard on Fox that the guy wasn't a pilot.

Hello.

That airplane is a pretty complicated aircraft to be flying with no clues about turbo props, manifold pressure, adjustable pitch, etc. Looked like his landing gear was up as well.

Rumor that I heard was that a fighter from Lakenheath splashed his aze. Thing is, he went down over the english channel. I flew out of Mildenhall for three years. If he was headed for Virginia he was going in the wrong direction.

Heard on CNN it's Trump's fault.

At least CNN can't go on for months wondering where it crashed.

There are lots of things I don’t understand.
You cannot park an aircraft on the ramp as you see it in this picture unless it has a key which has been removed.
New TSA rules require aircraft which are not equipped with a key to be blocked by ground support equipment. If the aircraft has reverse the aircraft must be blocked front and rear by ground support equipment.
Operators mudt have designated Key Control Officers.
These are not new rules.
I suspect there are several people who will have serious questions to answer.

Rockinbar: Indeed the F-15's were summoned from an air base just east of Portland, Oregon and were immediately authorized to fly at supersonic speed to the incident!
They arrived on scene in 7 minutes!
That is a "fer piece" from 10 miles east of Portland to just north of Tacoma, Washington - I am guessing 125 air miles?
Anyone have better info on air mile distance - please inform me.
I would be interested.
Thank God no innocents were injured/killed.
Hold into the wind

He was a baggage handler with clearance to be on the ramp. He did have some experience with a push-out tractor. The plane was parked in a maintenance area, not out on the ramp. He used a push-out to turn it 180 degrees. There are lots of things they don't know yet about where he learned to do all that he did.

Do you want it on DVD, or the downloadable version?

How much do you want to pay for the control console. They start at a couple hundred and are commonly available for less than a grand for the better versions, which the true nerds fly.

Thanks for all the links. I can be a Certified pile it in about 5 days just watching and reading all that.

Well you would probably be able to assume the controls of a craft in flight and drive it into the side of a chosen building after a few weeks of practice.
Posted By: WildWest Re: What's up at - 08/13/18
I m kinda thinkin the landing part is what gets dicey? I have flown in some super cubs and drove them for a bit. Did not take off and or land any. Seems like this guy had some reservations on landing the big bird safely, so as not to hurt anyone.
