From a spiritual perspective,I do hope she receives the blessings of God.

From a physical perspective,I could never understand people who find so much comfort in pleasing the palate while damaging the body,God's temple. My wife has tried to explain food obsessions and addictions but I remain blind to such emotional maladies.

The Queen of soul died on the same date as the King of Rock (Elvis)

Sorry to hear this. She's still the Queen of Soul to me. RIP Aretha.

All fall short and have their own weaknesses Lucifer exploits.

Jaguartx: Indeed I hope Ms. Franklin rests in peace!
She has always been a first class person and a great asset to her community and to our country.
I only wish she could have been with us longer.
Thank you Aretha for all the wonderful songs you have sung.
Hold into the wind

She made it to 76, that’s more than most get.

She just passed and the first thing you can think of is to criticize her because she was overweight? I’ll never understand why some people are obsessed with other’s weight.

She accomplished a heck of a lot in her life and gave a lot of joy to many. May she Rest In Peace.

My first statement or thing as you so ignorantly put it,was my hope that she receive the blessings of God.

I never mentioned her weight, you did.

So who is obsessed with weight? LOL

I don't think her weight played much of a part in her pancreatic cancer.

Ruth Ginsberg is the only one I ever knew to not die from that.

I'd trade Ruth to have Aretha back an day...

Back in my high school and college days I sure did a whole lot of moving that remotely resembled dancing while listening to her music. RIP.

Yet she blew her opportunity to knock it out of the park when she did the national anthem in a Superbowl. I was let down.

Nope. You may have not come right out and said "Aretha was fat" but since you posted in a thread about her and talked about people eating too much and ruining he body that God gave them, it was obvious who you were talking about.

I wish her Godspeed and peace. To be honest, I never cared for her singing; it always just seemed like yelling to me.

Your inability to comprehend the written word is striking.

This is to all of the morons, like yourself, who have no clue about Aretha Franklin's battle with food addiction.I never mentioned the amount of food, that was a construct of your imagination.I referenced the type of food.

She has appeared at numerous times in interviews and talked about her inability to control what she eats. She told one interviewer that she would call her driver late at night and request that he drive her to a fast food joint where she would indulge in those foods that she knew would harm her.My reference to my inability to understand these obsessions and addictions was just that and no more.My wife, who is a psychiatrist, has attempted to explain these emotional issues,as referenced in my original post.I made no reference to weight but to her obsession and addiction with food .

Readers of this thread may reasonably conclude that you and the other poster have issues with your own dietary restraint,so you intentionally misinterpret my post because of your hypersensitivity to these issues.

So please spare yourself any further embarrassment and try and refrain from misinterpreting the original intent of first post.

I have bolded what I posted for your reading comprehension...not that it matters,,,you seem to have a tendency to incorrectly state someones intent or meaning...and then argue aginst yourself. Seems to indicate you like the sound of your own voice.

Is this a new requirement,so members with remedial reading skills, such as yourself, can follow each sentence with your digitus secundus manus.

I have no "Respect" for the woman or her brother- agent that dressed like "Willy the pimp" and insisted to be called the Rev. Franklin a "coke head" ...I contracted her for the Detroit Dealer preview for the Cadillac Allante' at the Poltown Plant she was to sing "Pink Cadillac" and "Respect" while being driven in a pearl white Allante' that we used stage lights to make it look pink...she only sang "Pink Cadillac and got out of the car and left not singing "Respect" part of her contract.... her brother had her body guard muscle me when I approached the "Bitch of Soul" trying to get her to sing "Respect" that was written in her contract....

1. I'm from Detroit ( you know, Motown) so I am well aware with her struggle. What I, and others, can't comprehend is your need to bring it up in a thread about her death when it didn't contribute to her death.
2. That's what happens when you ASSume something. I'm 59, 5'7" and 155lbs. No weight or eating addiction here.

No, it's just the proper and correct way to write. It's hard to take anyone seriously when they can't even write. If you know how, it doesn't take anymore time to do it the correct way. This, from the guy who (wrongly) ASSumed (again), that I went to public schools.

So according to you, with your remedial education, spaces between sentences is the correct manner to write. You're more ignorant than you've previously displayed.LOL

Well you got one right. I realize you're a work in progress.

What's more confusing is you say your wife's a Psychiatrist. How's a Psychiatrist end up with a manchild like you....I mean LOL, like gosh....LOL....really....LOL. You present yourself as a complete fcuktard. She hasn't been able to help you at all. Hopefully with time she'll be able to. There's still hope....maybe.

Have a great day sweetie, NYH1.

Damn, Mz Franklin was a performer, a singer, not Mother Theresa or even Maggie Thatcher. Way too much emphasis put on her death. Or life, for that matter. Sad world when those most important to folks are paid entertainers.
