Decided to sign up after reading posts on this site for awhile. I am a retired Entomologist that just moved from Florida (after 40+ years) to the north Georgia mountains. Just needed to slow down and smell the daisies! I've been hunting all my life... archery and gun, and have had lots of fun and met many wonderful folks. Being a bit different (liking bugs...lol) I prefer single shot rifles and crossbows for most of my hunting. Works for me.
I am married with one daughter and two grandkids. I did not wake up dead today, so life is good.
I don't know fellas, but something about this guy "Bugs" me.
Especially when the first post was to sell something on the classified section. Hmmm
Feel free to "research" me. I'm a long time poster over at SWFA Optics Talk. I post under the name bugsNbows. I'm sure there are folks over there that would vouch for my worthiness.

I like your style already. Thicken up your carapace and come on in.
Might wanna beware of some of the DDT laying loose around the place, though.

So, for example, if I ask somebody if their mother had any kids that lived, I'd be tarred and feathered? Just wonderin'
No, but half of the nitwits would spend a good half hour scratching their heads thinking of a reply...and the rest of us will just disagree with whatever they come up with.
I think this is a new influx of Liberal Socialist Democrat sockpuppets for 2020. They feel kinda emboldened by the recent midterms. They probably have like 1/964ths NA DNA in em too.
New to here too yes. I have a gun and I go fishing.
nerf gun and a snoopy fishing pole?
Enlighten us chimneyfish!!!
You start another sock puppet without telling me?
ππ
No..... Last one I had was "Wittman"
Gus sniffed me out initially, of all people.
Then I corrected some wrong civil war posting about something. And got nailed by our buds from the tn mafia.
Hahahaa!!!
Named after a ww2 tiger tank company commander in Normandy He basically cost the allies almost a month of fighting by stalling out the british around caan. Killed in the falaise gap.
I told gus I was related to the chocolate making family of whittman,s .
Ricbin for some reason nails me on my sockpuppets also He knows I cant change my posting style.
OK.......that's enough small talk. Here's a few questions you need to answer.....your answers will determine your fate here on the fire so answer carefully.
1) First and probably the most important = ice in Whisky, yes or no?
2) Do you own a 6.5 Creedmoor.
3) Chainsaws, do you own an inexpensive Echo homeowner model or a proper 30" Jonsered pro model.
4) Is "light" beer really beer?
5) And last but certainly not least, beans in Chili. yes or no.

Hey SamOlson post the picture of the crazy assed looking cut inhalf bug I think you posted a few month ago. You know that nasty red thing you found on the tractor. Have the new guy tell us what it is. It still haunts my dreams.
Welcome! This place is full of great guys and itβs full of knowledge so adding an entomologist to the mix is a great addition. I suppose if you love bugs Florida is as good as it gets in the USA. π
I throwed a Betsy Beetle into my furnace bout an hour ago. It was making a hissing/clicking.

Ric,
Welcome to the Fire. If you are looking for an additional hobby fly fishing and entomology are like ham and eggs. Fly fishing is all about bugs. I also understand, although I have no first hand experience, that north Georgia mountains have some very good fly fishing for trout.
Just a suggestion to help keep busy in your retirement.
Welcome to the βfire! If youβve been following this site very long, and βstillβ decided to join.....you sir, obviously, are a very poor judge of character! memtb

Thanks for the suggestion. There is, indeed, great fly fishing here on the Toccoa and others.

Welcome RicG. Congratulations, you picked the most gentle website on the Internet and a peachy place to retire to, but Paradise was just a short north-east distance more.
Whatever you do around here DO NOT insult the guy in a leopard skin thong and aviators. He is an exalted member and should be respected as such. You have been warned.
heed the warning or he will fart in your direction.
Geno
PS besides farts he has a well trained big dog and knows how to use him.
PPS if you like to give away private info about yourself............................there's a thread asking if you sleep with your wife.
Welcome to the fire. I have a young friend that is an officer in the Navy. His Masters is in Entomology. Spent a lot of time at the CDC in Georgia, but now is stationed in Florida. He is a very talented custom painter, shooter, and now serious off road bicycle person.
Welcome aboard! I'm starting to think like you. I'm in SW Florida, and as much as it has grown here in just 4 years, northern GA sounds inviting.
I used to live in Punta Gorda (we called it panty girdle) / Port Charlotte. Home of the pace maker jet set. Got tired of blue hair and slow drivers so I left. The N Ga. mountains are pretty nice. There are also some tax advantages over NC (which, BTW, is also beautiful).
Welcome again RicG, To finalize your membership we need a some more information.

I just fugg with Liberal Socialist Democrats now.....
Even called a clinic in Utah, asked a few innocuous questions with the receptionist. She had no clue that she was giving me ammo to stuff in the 30 rounder. Taking chyt up the fed email food chain concerning the matter.
