Denny Feb 23, Mar 17 and Mar 29-31 I am at shows. Other than that, I am open for now. Thanks Tim
I think if someone has, or has access to, something to shoot 22s at for a little competition, that would be fun also. Would the club mind an off hand egg shoot if we cleaned up the mess????

That would be fun and it would give Denny something to do afterwords.

Ya he needs something to do!
I believe the club has the racks for an egg shoot! I'd have to check!
First player drops or tosses his ball underhand from the firing line and takes his first shot.
The second player does likewise. Players alternate for three shots each (Par 3).
Whichever ball has been knocked the farthest wins that hole.
Repeat with Par 4 and Par 5. New ball each time. Winner is the shooter with the most holes won. (Match play)
Rules: All shots must be taken from one spot, no moving. The ball must be played as it lies. Ball cannot be moved except by shooting. Both players must use same gun type (pistol or rifle).
Bonus rule in Wyoming. A ball that goes down a prairie dog hole is an automatic win.

I'm gonna have to load up some 300gr Bergers for my .338 Ultra... 😉
I think I'm gonna try to make it this year. I talked to The Boss and she says I can join you guys. Do we have dates yet? I suppose I could check back to the first page of this thread, but that's way too much like work, so when are we doing this? What can I bring? Really looking forward to meeting you guys.
Make it the 6th so that dickweed from MBS can make it......
😂
April 19th. Waco, Oklahoma City, infamous occurrences. Twas another that predates those two. 1975, Wurtsmith AFB, Base Chapel. 10:00. Life was never the same after...
Ok everybody it is April 6 th, I sorry Ernie, but that's is it. Meet a the New Beginnings restaurant at 8, then of to the club at 9- 9:30. We will have burgers for lunch, by wife will make beans, there is a grill at the club. Every body bring a dish to pass. I don't. Think this will be a problem, but I like to get it under 25 people. Now we need a roll call. Me first.
Planning on coming. If you're up against that 25 head count and others are expressing interest, make me your first call. I can wait till next time if it allows someone else to attend.
Let me know if there's anything I can bring, like extra camp chairs, tables, camping cook stove, etc. If I've got it and can fit it in the truck, I can bring it to help out.
We got the club house so tables and chairs Re a not a problem, and we have a gas grill also. Bring you and what ever gun you want. The club is not the Hilton but it will suffice.

I don't think you have to worry about that! We haven't come near that yet! Denny
Add one more Boss. My wife says she's coming along to keep you from beating up on the rest of us.
I can't wait to see Marty give Denny that swirly!!!!!
Heh, my luck she'll latch on to old Boss and give him a big hug. Then I'll have to be lookin' over my shoulder in fear they're gonna play a joke on me.
I wish Eric (EFW) was able to attend. 'Haven't seen him since he hunted with us in Pennsylvania. He shot the biggest danged buck he could find, and took the absolute longest possible path he could have to drag it off the mountain. One side of that deer was just a gigantic skid mark by the time he got it down off the hill.
Well if there is enough room, maybe I'll bring the new Mrs. JD338. She loves to shoot so she will bring her Nosler M48 Heritage 280 AI that she used to kill her bull moose on our Huntingmoon last fall. She shoots out to 800 yards. I created a monster! JD338
Do many of the guys bring their wives to these? I hadn't thought about bringing Cathy, but if others are bringing their wives, I'll ask if she wants to tag along.
I don't know if there have been many wives to these, but my wife is a veteran of shooting gettogethers. She has never had a problem fitting in. I hope it isn't a problem with the rest of the gang.
Well, Lemme tell ya Boss, the wife is no shrinking violet. If you demand a sammich, you better ask for one on a long thin bun. It'll hurt less when she delivers it.

Sounds like her and my wife would make a good team.
There's a pretty good range about 10 miles west of Rexburg Idaho that has RV parking near the cowboy action range and a park on the North fork of the snake river that allows overnight camping only about 3 miles down the road. I've often thought that it would be a good place for a get together. I could make a batch of boer wors and maybe some biltong.

You're a good man to have my back Mark. If we play our cards right maybe Boss will be nice to us this year......

We gotta stick together man, it's the only chance we got. The fact that we'll be parking our camper in your yard has nothin' to do with it.
Following this thread or engaging in one of this groups activities, it is difficult to locate the "brains of the outfit". Kinda like 3rd graders at recess. But a pretty good time.

It's a good ole boy thing not a country club. As a matter of fact most if not all of this crowd would be asked to leave a country club, and some of us already have been.

I have no desire to be in a country club! Just sayin!

That sounds like fun. Does it need to be .22s or would .22lr be alright? (Curious, never tried an egg shoot) (Apples, never eggs)
Good, I don't own anything that uses shorts. There is the possibility that I will be in Michigan for that weekend. (Dates are still up in the air) for some trail riding on the four wheelers. Might be able to stop by for a meet and greet.
I'm going to need an actual address to GPS, and see if this is feasible. Please PM it if necessary, or post it here. (Need to see if these 2 events are anywhere near each other. ) thanks.
Found the restaurant, I think, but nothing on the club.)
Not sure. Off hand at 50 yds, 100 yds? Piece of plastic for clean up?
A cease fire is called and the folks get ready to scramble eggs. At this time you can only have ten loaded cartridges on your bench. At the commence fire signal you get 5 minutes to shoot ten rounds. The shooter that hits the most eggs with the least rounds wins. Therefore five out of five is perfect. And a 15 for 15 is a perfect score for the three relays. During the course of fire you may take a sighter shot (a sighter target is available at each egg station) but these sighter shots count towards your 10 shot limit.
Any ties are broken by a Sudden Death shoot out. Each shooter in the sudden death shoot-off fires on a series of eggs or other more challenging target depending on class, in turn, until someone misses. If there is no clear winner after one round of targets, we repeat until someone misses.
I think a 22 rimfire would be a good class to start with, it is shot at 100yds benchrest or we could do a 50 yard free standing if we wanted to. It's our party so we can do any damn thing we want!!
I'm thinking anyone who wants to play could bring a couple dozen eggs and we could have a couple different matches if we wanted.

The restaurant is at 25 68th Ave, Coopersville, MI 49404, I don't know the address of the club but it is about 12 miles away. Denny will have the address.

Great time with the Michigan folks today. They're the real deal. Enjoyed good, knowledgeable company, good food, shot some very cool guns and had an all-around awesome day!
Special thanks to Denny and his club for making this happen. Job well done.
We had a great time. It was a pleasure to meet a few new folks and some old pals. The weather was great after the morning fog burned off and the temperature got to 64*. Ahhh, a great way to spend a Saturday.
My new Ruger SR1911 10mm came back from the smith's yesterday after having an RMR mount made to fit the Bomar sight cut on the Ruger's slide. The smith bore sighted it and was on paper at 7 yards. Unfortunately I haven't shot much in the last year especially handguns, and that 1 minute dot was waving all over the place. I wonder if I can get that fixed?
The little Sig P 365 didn't disappoint anyone that shot it. Appears to be a winner, but we'll have to see after some have high round counts how durable they are.
Marty will get the pics sent to where I can then get them posted here.
Had a great time today! Twas a pleasure to finally meet the people and put faces to the names of folks I've been following on the campfire. Looking forward to doing it again in the future.
Thanks Denny for putting everything together. Ya done good, even for a sparty/cheese head...
Another great outing. Great to see you fellas and a pleasure to meet you Marty. It was nice to meet some new friends too. Thank you Denny for hosting another successful campfire gy together.
Al I wish I had your skills. That rifle was awesome, you machined you own scope base, barrel, Abe bolt. Then Bruce shot little bug shaped groups at two hindered yards with it.
Speaking of undercooking the brats, did I cook enough hamburgers? I froze the rest today, and there were 11, I'm not real good at math but we had 10 people there and 11 from 20 is 9 so who got shorted? Speak up so I can apologize!

It was a pleasure to me you and Charlie fox trot.
Thanks Denny.
I was watching through my spotting scope when Bruce shot the group. His second shot made the hole from the first shot slightly bigger. I told him he missed the target. Rifle scope was set on 50X so I knew he could see the group better than I could. He turned around to look at me, had a big grin. Third shot went slightly lower than the second , made a tiny cloverleaf. I told him he missed again, his grin got bigger. I hate it when someone shoots my rifle better than I can.
All I demand out a gun is minute of deer accuracy, but looking thru the scope at that group I was really impressed. Heard of such accuracy, first time seeing it. WOW.
