I was a bit disappointed. Trump obviously just read a scripted speech and did so in a very monotone voice which isn't his normal pattern. I was hoping he would declare an emergency and move forward with the wall. I don't see any movement in the problem of ending the shutdown. President Trump did what he does best. He attacked his opponents strong points. It's not always the truth, but it's always effective. In this case it is true. That's why Pelosi and Schumer couldn't do anything but spit and sputter and call him a liar. He painted them as cruel and inhune, which of course, cuts into the soul of their "message". That speech was about a lot more than a wall. He was letting them know that he may lose this fight, but they're not gonna escape unscathed.
