I had a bone marrow biopsy done about 06:60 today. I opted to forgo sedation and just have a local used.
The doctor did an excellent job....after the normal pricks from the first numbing shots I barely felt any pain whatsoever....
Well now that I've been home for several hours and the numb juice has worn off, the site where they did the drilling and extraction hurts like a sumbitch.
They said it would be "sore" for a few days (which is to be expected) but dam!!!!!
I haven't had any Bourbon in a couple of months but that may change tonight.
Schit Charlie. Sorry about that.

Good luck.

My gunsmith friend is due for another bone marrow biopsy soon. He is not looking forward to it.

I don't have any idea what why you had the biopsy done but I wish you the best of luck and speedy healing.

Prayers sent.
No pain meds?
Hang tuff, FG.
Ouch Charlie!

I'll have a beer to help your pain.....
They suck

I remember them unwrapping a fuggin brass hammer and and ice pick thingie to do mine couple years back. Or maybe it was one of the T-handle tire plugger things. Cant quite exactly remember.

I opted for a the iV and versid/fentinyl squeeze

I felt so bad everywhere else, the core sample taken out of my ass bone wasnt noticed.

+1

Any time a doctor tells you that something might cause a little discomfort, grab hold of something solid quickly.

Thanks Sam.....that's the least you can do.

PS.....I'm having a good ol PBR right now with a nice Porter on deck to go with tonight's bean soup and sour dough dinner..
Ouch! That hurts just reading it!

Hang tough, Idahoan.....reads like dinner should help distract. ; }
Talk about a 'pain in the ass'.....

Hope you get better, and soon!

Sound advice.
Bourbon withdrawals are a mofo !!!!
Don't sound like one bit of fun to me. Hang tough.
There ain't much that hurts like bone pain. It grabs your attention and does not let up. One of those aching deep down while you grit your teeth deals.
Hope all is well with you Charlie !

Friend of mine had Back Surgery couple of years ago doctor gave him NOTHING for pain , he was pissed about the level of pain he had to endure .

That's what she said . . . . . . laugh
Good luck FG. Pop some pills, that’s what they’re for.
Hope you are feeling better soon buddy.
Pain meds but only 3 or 4 days worth.
Little old man comes home from the doctor all upset. Wife is concerned, and asked him what the problem was. Little old man says " Doc says I have to take a pill every day for the rest of my life!"
Wife thinks about it and says, "so what's the big deal?, it's just a pill...."
He hollers "HE ONLY GAVE ME 4 PILLS!" wink
(Hope you feel better quickly)
Charlie, can you post a few of those half nekked girls you have? Won’t make you feel any better, but it will me. You get better real soon! 😎
Even morphine wouldn't stop the pain once the block wore off.
Right up the middle of my Tibula over halfway to the knee. Every bit of that is still in there. Fun times!!!

Was this a biopsy?
Hope your OK, and keep us in the loop,
get well.

Dang Charlie,

that's rough, real rough.

Hope the dogs are treating you right. Ours sure make my wife feel a lot better after her surgery last Tues.

Enjoy the dinner and try to get some rest.

But kick him in the nuts first - just to remind him what pain is.
Take care and get your mind off it for awhile.

My doctor told me "don't try to be a hero, take the pain meds I'm prescribing. Well schitt, this is overrated, I really don't need em.
Wow, after the surgery meds wore off, I couldn't get off the bed, it tool everything I had to get rolled onto my stomach and slide off the bed.
Never again will I pass up the pain meds.
Rub some dirt on it.
Hoping for the best Charlie.
Good luck!
Sure wishing you the best, Charlie.

You've had enough of this crap. Praying for you to heal quickly.
Damn, bud. Hope everything gets right real quick.
Hang Tough! Hope the tests come out Great for you!

Amen!
Sorry you are going through it. Hoping the best for you.
Sorry to hear this, Charlie. Hope everything is OK.
Well.....despite all the free medical advice and pain meds recommendations.....after a couple of beers, some dinner, a couple of Tylenol's per the nurses advice and a good nights sleep my butt feels better.
And I didn't even get into the Bourbon which kinda sucks because I have a jug of Makers Mark i got for Christmas and haven't even tried yet.

It's still tender/sore as hell but tolerable considering someone drilled a hole in my hip bone yesterday.

Now if I could just get these mouth breathing Mutts of mine to feel sorry for me but they're still more concerned with feeding time than my poor butt....bitches frown

Charlie, I suspect you'll like that stuff!

(glad to hear you're feeling 'okay' given the circumstances)
It is a pain in the ass, and hip, I donated marrow a few years ago, sadly, I'm afraid I may need to again, got a lifetimer buddy battling some kind of bone cancer, he doesn't know I'm on the list and wouldn't ask, but his sister and BIL do, good luck to You FG! smile
I feel your pain, last year ,this time,I had an Evans procedure on my left foot.Dr. took bone and marrow out of my left hip to use on my foot.hurt like hell,my hip hurt worse then my foot and I was in a cast for months.
It hurt so bad I was on the verge of puking,my hip looked like I was in a car crash.feel better,it fades.
