Rode in one of these a lot growing up. Factory stance, factory wheels, same color. 1988 Dodge Ramcharger with 360.

My brother got one when he turned 15, 84 model I think. Red and white 2 tone, small lift, and mud tires. Had a 318 in this one and my dad disconnected the kick down for passing. It was a dog but he was sure proud of it. I inherited it 3 years later. It died when I rolled it over on a backroad in the wee hours of the morning.

My mom rode to the hospital in one and I rode back home with her in our 4-door sedan. We had it until 1954, when we got a Ford Ranch Wagon.

It was our hunting car and only car until 1959.

'48. My dad had a 49 just like it. I drove that thing for many miles, many of them where I shouldn't have gone without 4x4...or chains...or a shovel...or anything of use

A fiiiiine automobile!

This is a 1970 ford Torino GT.

This is NOT my car, I stole this photo from a facebook group. I did have one of these cars as my first car when I was a teenager. I tracked the car down a couple of years ago, I know where it is, I just haven't had time to go look at it yet.
I was born the same year as Seafire, and OrangOkie, 1952

Can't do photos, but a picture of a 1952 Jeep CJ2A would be fitting.

I'd also like to commend so many of you for adapting and being able to operate a networked device at such advanced ages.

Did any of you guys know Henry Ford?

I didn't know Hank personally, but I worked in his Plants.

Took a while to get all these out in the lunchbox, but I still got 'em all...

Dave,

Rather than disparage, perhaps we can offer a lending hand?

We are all brothers. Age does not change that.

Thank you.

Sometimes I forget the disconnect that comes with interfacing online. Just because I'm smirking with truly innocent intent, does not mean the interpretation will reflect as much. Re-reading my comment it's clearly... yeah it's not nice.

In this case I have shown irony. A guy ribbing elders for being able to interface online..... And I fail my original intent with my efforts.

You've inspired me to laugh at myself though, I hope others can forgive.

By December, 1942, all domestic car companies had ceased production of passenger automobiles and were committed to building military vehicles and equipment. Production of domestic cars did not resume until late 1945, after the surrender of the Axis armies.

I was born in 1943, so there were no passenger cars made during the year that I was born, and I guess you could say that the cars that were out there looked like those of the last couple of years of the 1930s and the first couple of years of the 1940s.

Used to be an old mechanic that I took stuff I couldn't or didn't want to work on to. He had two or three implement sheds full of classic cars. He was a Mopar guy. He had one exactly like the one in the pic, only in original shape. It had faded paint, an interior to match and some rust. Hadn't been wrecked. It wasn't inside, but was one of two or three cars that sat outside his house and by his shop. I always wanted that car. It had the original engine in it.

I think I told you before that Dad worked for Sinclair. He worked with a guy up in Missouri whose nickname was "Hotrod". He inherited some money and immediately bought a Hawk. Promptly, he wrecked it going about 120 IIRC, a respectable speed for the 50's on some Missouri road, if you knew how they used to be. Hence, his nickname.
My old neighbor had one. It was rusting out where the fins were attached to the quarters.
It cleaned up pretty good. Jackie got started cleaning up the trunk hood pretty quick.

Internet pic, wished it were mine. Had a '55 hardtop for a bit. Born in '56 but like it the least of the 3 yrs. Sure enjoy pics of these rigs, bring back memories of the 'good ole days' and drive in theatre's and A&W etc eatin places. Owned the '55, 62 Chevy II, '64 Malibu SS factor 4sp, '69 Sport Satellite 2dr with bored & balanced 383, '71 Cyclone GT w/429SCJ, competition blue with white vinyl top, '72 Cheyenne 4X4 short box and a '75 1500 with bored 454. Sadly don't have any of them anymore.
My how time flies.

1950 CJ4. Yes, I said CJ4. This is it. The only one ever built. It was an upgrade of the CJ3A. It was the victim of the Korean war buildup when they were cranking out M38A1's which was actually the military version of the CJ5. After the war, they went to the CJ5. The CJ4 was then licensed to Mahindra in India and built as the Mahindra Jeep which wasn't sold in the US.
