The 23-kilogram drone has a three-meter wingspan, carrying a 12-caliber Vepr 12 semi-automatic shotgun designed after the infamous Kalashnikov rifle. The drone doesn’t require a runaway or catapult to operate, as it launches and lands vertically.

That's a video of an early Aeroflot passenger plane. Landing fields being somewhat scarce in 1930's Russia they would fly non-stop from point A to point B and literally "drop off" passengers at various points along the way. I hear the in flight service was pretty good, though - free vodka and all you can drink...
