getting my garden tilled tomorrow, should of already done it.
We're still a frost away for that.
i should of had it done a month ago, but been busy with other stuff. did get some grape vines planted two weeks ago though.
Supposed to be In the mid 80โs here this weekend and low 90โs next week. But about 25 years ago, I remember an Easter where we got 13โ of snow. The big old mesquite trees havenโt started to bloom here yet, and usually they are a really good indication that the last freeze has passed & spring is truly here.
Pretty well leafed out down here, but record low of 38 day before last.
For us "spring" is just a word and a date on the calendar..............had to spread ice melt on the parking lot at work Monday morning then broom clean the sidewalk. Fugg!
It'll turn though, better days are just around the corner.

Haha! Did mine yesterday with the tractor.
Kinda funny as we are on opposite extremes of the country.
Thanks for posting the spring pictures because this time of year spring is still just a dream. But it won't be too long as we're into April now. Spring is working its way northward and it ain't here yet; but at least I can look at the pictures. They all look real nice. I can't wait.
Raked and seeded grass in the dogs' area of the yard between winter and psycho pup its pretty chewed up. They're calling for 5 days of rain so maybe I'll get the easy way out on this deal. Hope it stays warm enough to pop the seeds before the birds find em all but either way I'll take the rain its been a while.
Beautiful pics Scott.
We have highs in high 60s this w/e. After this insane winter everyone is ready!
About 70 here today. Love the warmer weather and using less propane. Don't wanna start mowing the grass.
Caught some Spring steelhead on Sunday up here in WI. It was 24 degrees when we started in the morning.
Last thing we need is a hard killing frost with everything budding.
Had one in spring of 08 around the beginning of the 2nd week of april.
It really fugged up the acorns for that fall.
Long range forecast looks good for warming up .
Hopefully the cold spell the last 3 days is the end of it for this spring.
Fuucking beautiful weather here.
The mud is about dried up.....
Last week.
Today on the high spot.
Winter is over!!!!!!!
(yeah right)
Need to start thinking about getting the old farm trucks and tractors all up and running for another planting season.
Does Amazon sell pressure washers?
grin
Notice how clean that mirror and part of the side window are.....
Windex and a roll of the good blue shop paper towels!
Spring sprung last week. When the Blue Wing Teal get back here...it's a done deal. Everywhere. You may get a few cold spells, but winter is over in the Northern Hemisphere.
Sam, why would you drive into that schit hole? You saw it, right? Maybe it was a Stella-Tequila morning ๐
I planted 3 small tomato plants last week, zucchini and cucumbers today. By June they'll be massive and I'll be picking vine ripened tomatoes by July 4.

Ha! I was going to ask if you ever washed that truck, but I think I have my answer!
I still have 2' of snow in most of my yard. Getting pretty sick of looking at it. We're supposed to get in to the 50's this weekend though so hopefully it goes away.

I wasn't driving the pickup!
And I might have even hinted to the driver that the frost was getting pretty soft in that particular spot.......grin

Which part?
A whole roll!
LOL

All I can figure is that everybody in Minnesota was born there.

Fugging up the acorns isnโt terrible.
Amen , Brother Steelhead.
I have planted 3 pea patches.
In mid may I will plant pumpkin patches at 3 houses.
I am hauling around a lot of bags of chicken manure and sphagnum peat moss.

I hope you did not say "Told you so" after pulling him out. That always gets me in trouble.
got a 15x20 and a couple smaller areas tilled today.
I was nearly sexually assaulted by a Meadowlark.
The birds are amorous.
The creek in my backyard is running like crazy and I can hear the Meadowlarks singing. Yep, Spring is here.
67F here today.
All out T-shirt weather this afternoon!
Da cow and calves are lovin' it.
i accidentally got into a cactus, was wearing shorts and barefoot, had to get the tweezers out.
Most of the snow is gone here...for now.
Snow and 36 next Thursday and Fri...
99% snow free here. Mud dried up quick. I hope we get a wet April and I can whine about more mud.
2 years of drought has a guy spooked.
Still more snow than bare ground here, was in the 40s today, so its coming Slowly!

That had be a teenage rooster. He wasn't sure exactly what is was he's supposed to do but he knows he's got to do it like right now!! lmao
The rain stopped this morning here and the sun brought it up to about 60 degrees today. I think every tree/bush has at least swollen buds now most with baby leaves. No night time frost on the horizon she's pretty much beat its spring round here
just went outside and there was about 10 porch toads in the tilled area by the porch. feasting on bugs.
80 degrees for the high Saturday
We have an "atmospheric river" event forecast for Saturday through Monday. Lots of rain and snow melt.
The apricot buds are swelling. We only have a crop about 1 out of 2 years. Late frosts get them. We don't plant stuff like tomatoes outside until Memorial Day. There's too much of a chance of a freeze in May. About May 1 we start stuff in the greenhouse.
Going to plant a Plum tree. lemon, avocado and red oak tree plus tomato's, peppers, squash and other stuff today after these enchiladas settle.
It's as dry here as it's been in over a year.
I'm good with it. It can stay dry all summer for all I care. The rain and flooding we had for over a year is enough for me for a while.
we're getting thunderstorms tonight. rained early this morning.
Started my new post retirement job as a Ranch Hand and Wrangler taking care of and saddling 60 horses.
Spring sucks.
mowed the grass for the first time yesterday.....it beats the crap out of shoveling white stuff.
It is so fuucking nice here.
Da Olsen twins...
Cool Sam!
Never had a set of twins in all the years we raised black Angus!
C, must be something in the water around here as we have 1-5 sets a year.
Couple years ago we had 3 sets in the heifers. But at least with heifers(calving out the front window) it is easy to figure out.
Found a little dead newborn calf the other day out with the main herd. It was licked off and obviously had been alive for a day or so. Probably a rejected orphan that never nursed. Maybe a calf that got stepped on.
Try to listen and look for 'weak' calves but you're not gonna see everything.
Richard boy and I are eating an ice cream at the store in town.

Livin' it up.....
Windows open here, 65F and big puffy clouds floating in the sky.
Heard and then spotted the first of the cranes today.
Dang! You Hi-Line Boys got 'er dicked up there this year!
My place is at least a month behind some of you. At least the snow is gone here at the house.
