I did spend almost half of what I paid for my house this past weekend in Denver at the Colorado Collector's Gun Show. If you haven't been to one of these, you are missing the best show in America. Lots of older and interesting guns without a Glock or 6.5 Creedmoor in the lot of over 1300 tables. This is a Colt Burgess that was made and shipped in 1883...

Damn that's a Great piece
Whoa
Beautiful. Almost 150 years old and the screw heads are still almost pristine.
Lawd have mercy! You're killing me!!!!!!!
Great find!!

I go to that show every year and just drool at the beautiful arms on display. Everything I want is way over my budget so all I can do is look. Glad to see that someone here has the where with all to actually afford one of those beauties.

This year the exhibits didn't disappoint either with not a single AR in sight. But I thought that the prices were a tiny bit more reasonable that in past years. I don't know if they've come down a bit or I'm just more use to the high prices though!
That colt is in great shape! what caliber?44-40?dont you have a few of those in your collection? i never see any of those in the wild back here in the east. Don

44-40, I wish it was a 38-40.
Push a sleeve down the barrel and make it a .38 or a 22 or a........but really, that's a nice Colt Shrap. Just be sure to keep Flave away from it.

....6.5 CM??
grin
Very nice, hope to make it to the Denver show next year.
Struck by the sculpting of the receiver, and that lever screw looks real heavy duty. What are the insides like, Marlin simple or Browning busy?

This is from the genius of Andrew Burgess. The interior is simple smooth and functional. Burgess may not have been as prolific as Browning, but still a master of invention and simplicity...
My oh my!

You had way too much fun there!
