Tine after Time, Off of You're Under Arrest and also I think the version where he was so sick, off of Time After Time
Stella by Starlight, with Coltrane from Classic Ballads
Miles runs the Voodoo Down, from Bitches Brew
The entire album Siesta. That is the sound track from the film Siesta, done with Marcus Miller. One of the worst films ever made even though it opens with a good looking naked woman.
Concierto De Aranjuez, The original arrangement for Miles by Gil Evans and the several variations.
Kind of Blue, the entire album.
Bitches Brew, the whole four CD set. It's hard to find but provides a lot of insight into the music
Porgy and Bess, The whole album.
Bob James and Gabor Szabo, Macho
Gabor Szabo and Charles Lloyd, from Live With Charles Lloyd, People
Okay, an honest question here. Why did you get on a thread where people are politely discussing and sharing a broad genre of music they like just to piss on it?
Would you like it if someone got on one of your threads about old rifles just to tell you what pieces of sh*t they are? Would you like it if someone got on a 270 thread for the sole purpose of telling you what a POS it is and how a 6.5 Creedmoor blows it out of the water in every way possible?
And if you wouldn't like that, why do you do it to others?

You are looking too deep to find something wrong. If local_dirt is truly offended I’m sure the dialogue would be much different.
Shrapnel and I talked on the phone and this was just my misunderstanding of intent. No need to make a big deal but wanted to shout out to Kirk and says thanks for reaching out to me personally, that was a very cool thing to do.

You may need an intervention...
Shrap and I just having some fun with each other. No harm, no foul.
Being as I have loved jazz since I was little I have seen a lot of live performances by people/bands on this thread.
One that needs mentioned is Little feat and Tower of Power that turned into Waiting for Columbus. Spanish Moon is right there for what jazz is all about.
I watched Bob James and Keiko Matsui at the Dakota from the balcony right above them and seeing them work out how to handle a piece was incredible. It was the first stop on their Four Hands tour and they were still playing off the sheet music. Watching them flip back and forth through the score and them one would lead the other through a whole 'nother interpretation was about as much fun as I have had at any concert.
I took a girl to see Miles open for some rock band at the Fillmore back in the 60s. When he was done, I was done and wouldn't stay for the rock group which pissed her off enough that I didn't get laid that night which was hard to accomplish in San Francisco then.
Some of the best takes of songs have been in live performances that never got recorded. I was in Blues Alley in DC for a Bob James concert with Kirk Whalum, Gary King and I forget who o guitar. They laid out a 20 minute version of Westchester Lady that just blew the audience away. The audience need a break after that as much as the band did
