Thought I'd share two cool things.

The first is an ancient organ pipe cactus. This cactus is very, very old and is still growing. It is 100+ miles from the edge of organ pipe habitat currently. We found it scouting last fall. Really really cool.

The second was a visitor I just had in the yard. Ancient old warrior himself.

Very cool! That cactus is huge.

I found a couple Indian pit houses from 1,000 years ago hiking yesterday near Flagstaff.

I need to actually try to post pictures on this website.

From the title, I expected this thread to be about two geezers living in a trailer park in Yuma.

Thanks Greg.

Just makes me miss the desert more.

This "high desert" sagebrush/juniper stuff just isn't the same.
Just now pouring down rain after a week or more of cloudy drizzly days, thunderstorms, and high humidity (for here, not for Mississippi)

Pics of the real desert are always welcome.

Greg, I sure enjoyed the pics. I'm not all that familiar with your area of AZ. What's the name of the pointy peak in the center of this pic?

Maybe we should start a desert pic thread? I'm sure there's a number of folks here that have some nice ones.

Thanks again,

Geno
Good idea, Geno!

Yes...

Saw 1 chain link above the ground in the middle of BFE....
Damn I miss the desert. May just end up forcing the wife to accept a move someday.

Good luck with that. After 5+ years living along the AZ/NV border seeing temps up to 126/128F and in Boulder City NV my wife will have none of it again!

That's why I miss it so much I think, because I know I'll never live there again unless she passes before I do. She's led an easier life and is younger, so I don't see that as likely.
