you can find quotes from all the democrats and republicans from back then echoing the same argument for strong border enforcement and fixing immigration laws. We can all see how well they were fixed. Just a year or two before Trump took office Collins, McCain and all the RINOs promised to repeal the ACA. Look at how that turned out. The "severely conservative" Mitt Romney ran his campaign on a lot of stuff that proved out to be false. Who knew?

Someone else said "the fact that anyone wants to be a politician is proof they are unqualified to be one".

Slick Willie also said "Make no mistake, the era of big government is over." Yeah, right. I'd hate to see what government would look like if it was still big.

Short, sweet, and to the point. Probably one of the most simplistic and accurate explanations of what has been happening to America for the past 30 years, give or take.

20 years ago the democrats were against illegal immigration because they competed with union jobs and the unions were a big part of the democrat base. One of their saints, Cesar Chavez, hated illegals because they undercut farm worker wages.

Today unions have lost a lot of influence and many union members vote republican against the dictates of union leadership so democrats don’t care as much about them. What the Dems have realized since that time period is how valuable illegals are to them when they can figure out how to get them voting either through laws allowing them to vote or fraudulent voting. That and the demographic change they bring will guarantee the US becomes a one party nation within the next 20 years.

In the 1950’s non-Hispanic whites were 85-90% of the population, now we’re down to 60%. Demographics are destiny and the democrats well understand that.
