I know here, the fish cops would probably kill it. And the so called 'refuge/rehab' place in our area would mostl likely keep it caged up in a quail run.

We had a half-coyote dog when I was in high school and she didn't really act like a typical dog at all.

Yep. And I’m always amazed how “catlike” they sometimes act in their mannerisms.

I had a half coyote / half red healer that was one of the smartest dogs I ever had. He didn’t act very dog like either. Never ever barked unless something was bad wrong. If he ever barked at night, you had better damn well grab your gun.

Love it man. Cool critters to watch work. Shot a grand total of one grey fox in my life and didn't like the feeling. Was a teenager and back then didn't mind shooting anything. Just wasn't for me. Cool critters. Hope he hangs around a long time.

Yep. Walked through a pygmy oak forest outside of the central coast town I was living in, heard all these funny birds chirping at me. Turns out there were about 3-4 grey foxes checking me out. A couple of them in the trees (that grew at a slant, easy for them to scale I guess). Quite the unusual sighting for me.

Anyways, I hope the two of you manage a good long association together. Though I'm betting it becomes an "outside" fox in the not too distant future.

I think Roger acquired it young enough that it might be ok. If not, he's got a good back up plan.

Greys are actually pretty good at tree climbing. Some of them “nest” too. Meaning they deliver and raise their Kits in a tree instead of in a den.
