I don't think people realize how many Colt long guns were made in different variations. Although some are quite rare, Colt certainly had an impact on the Frontier other than just pistols. Here is a display I built to show the Colt guns...

Very nice. I never knew of the Colt Burgess.
I love those pump action lightening rifles.

Well done Kirk.

Didn't the Colt Burgess cause a bit of a "Come to Jesus" meeting between Colt and Winchester regarding whom was going to build what?

Something on the order of: "You (Colt) keep building those lever action rifles (Burgess) and we'll (Winchester) start making six-shooters."

Shrap, where's the Colt Light Rifle?
Very nice display Sharp!
Any of em for sale if someone offers just have ta have it crazy money for something???

Somewhere between a Ruger American and a 6.5 Creedmoor...
Were the Colts more expensive, then say a Winchester? , Marlin? During the same time period.
That is beautiful
Very cool.....love that hammer shotgun
Nice work 👍
Awesome!
Very nice, excellent in fact
No school like the Old School.

OUTSTANDING!!!
Ultra cool....... So much history all in one place. I knew Colt made shotguns but I've never seen one in person anywhere, ever. Never saw a Burgess either, other than in a picture.
Well done. Tasteful.
That'll knock their socks off.
The stuff you can get when shaking down drunk Indians. Hey cuz you got 10 dollars to spare. Shrapnel what's that pistol you got there? Indian bumming cash-Oh this just my great great grandpas pistol from little bighorn( all Indians in Montana think there great great grandpas guns were used at little bighorn) shrapnel -give you $5 for that pistol.. Indian says deal cuz..
Very nice, quite the display. Thanks for sharing it with others.
That looks like it will fly.

I like those pumps.
No Colt Paterson Rifle ? Figured Shrap would own at least a couple of them 😜
Very cool, shrap.
Does anyone know what calibers the Colt Lightning pumps were made in? I never new they made large caliber pump guns. Seems like they would have been a little faster than the Winchester lever guns, especially in pistol calibers.

The medium-frame Colt Lightning Magazine Rifle was manufactured between 1884 and 1904. It was the first slide-action rifle offered by Colt. Colt records indicate 89,777 were produced, in .32-20, .38-40, and .44-40 as a companion arm to the Colt Single Action Army revolver. Two versions were offered: a rifle with a 26 in barrel and 15-round magazine, and a carbine with a 20 in barrel and 12-round magazine.

The small-frame Lightning (also referred to as "Second Model Colt Lightning" was the first rimfire rifle made by Colt and was manufactured between 1887 and 1904 as a plinking and gallery gun. Colt records indicate 89,912 were made, in .22 Short and .22 Long. Barrel length was 24 in and the rifles had a blued finish, case-hardened hammer, and a walnut stock.

The large-frame Lightning was manufactured between 1887 and 1894. Colt records indicate 6,496 were made in different big game calibers such as .38-56-255, 40-60-260, 45-85 and .50-95 Express. Barrel length was 22 or 28 in

The Lightning is a fast shooting gun and the originals still work...

Very nice display; would love to see it at our shows. It could take the place of some of the jewelry, stun guns, and "You're Not a Real American if You Don't Pay to Join Our Group" tables.
Pass the 4 3/4" .44 cal. Peacemaker please...
Holy smokes shrap ! I’m not a young man anymore !

Dang near had heart failure lusting over your display .

If you’re gonna show gun porn to an older set like us, might be best to piecemeal it out, 1 or 2 at a time.

That’s hella cool, as happy for you as a jealous man can be.

Oh Shrap, he’s the Hugh Hefner of the gun world. 🤦🏼‍♂️😂

There is something cool about the 4 3/4 inch guns, I still prefer the 7 1/2 inch for shooting. This 3 3/4 inch gun with Bisley hammer is over the top in cool. As handsome as a Colt SAA is, I just can't warm up to a 5 1/2 inch gun...

Frontier Six Shooter. wink

Love those!
Shrap, I agree about the 5 1/2" SAA.

Would be my last choice.

That is the crown jewel as Lightning’s go, there were few large frames and very few 50-95’s...
Don't I see a Winchester 73 in there?
