I used to hunt Elk up at Gardiner MT. in mostly the late seasons and N i g g er h e a d Mountain was a good area to get
elk coming out of Yellowstone. I remember when it was on the map. It is not on the map anymore, but at one time it was. It disappeared with the Squaw Gulches around the state!

We used to have N I g g e r Hollow, and the road by the same name.
A secondary paved road, no lines.
In the 90's, state workers had to refer to it on the radio by it's number,
which no one knew. Early 2000's we got 911, and it got renamed
Dark Hollow Road. Most call it N I g g a r Hollow.
