We received directions on a grandfather clock from tndbstr today.

Most of the folks on the forum are good people.
Forums and social media have introduced me to some of the most wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

I think for the most part the good go about it in a fairly laid-back manner.

Oh yeah. No fun arguing with people acting in bad faith.

I can't remember the number of times a member has shipped me an item from the classifieds before receiving the money. I try to do that, too. granted, not high dollar items but there is a sense of trust around this place.

BINGO! You win a million dollars!
Sadly, many of our really good folks have walked away from this site, sick of the keyboard commandos.

Definitely a lot more good than bad.

If this were a real campfire and everyone was in attendance, I wonder how many would still be sitting around laughing and having fun with their teeth still in their skulls.

Yep; I’ve never met face to face w/ a fire member who wasn’t top notch.

As for the less desirables, that’s true of all communities that I’ve been a part of.

As with the campfire, I’ve been less than desirable at times myself...

I know another couple of good 'uns.

One sent me a tiddy calendar for my tractor... grin

You'll never have an opportunity to meet the culls.

They shy away from face to face contact. wink

That... And just in case I forget what tiddies look like... laugh

Actually, I have a small office in both tractors. Invoice books, business cards, receipts, scratch pads.

Calendar comes in handy when booking appointments.

Nothin against you, but I will offer my take on it

The deal is the nuckin-yucks and their old time knee slappin possee thought they could talk shĂźt to new folks joining the site

Well, they got their asses handed to them in diced up cubes and they left or went underground.

Toodles

Now, the few that are left all converse via PM.

Others had died, sucked a pistol, had balls electively removed, gotten sock puppets, or restarted their latent sleeper sock puppets that they have been shelved away ten 10 yrs only used for 'hatchet jobs.

i.e. Someone with 100 posts and a start date of 2003 and everyone calls each other fred, norton, ralph

What the fugg ever.

You two get more jollies from each other than normal. Platonic relationships are acceptable, hopefully that’s all it is...

That's cause we are the only 2 azzholes left out of 8 that fought with the turdlike clan for 3 fugging years.
The rest of em tucked their tails and went back to candyland tn deer under sock puppet names.
All " respected members in their minds" now on that website

Whores that sold their souls and couldn't hang in the long game IMO......

Where are the turdlikes nowadays anyways.

Just like slumlord said.
On here with old sockpuppets now.

And the place has schitloads of new members that stick around and post regularly now insted of getting run the fugg off by a bunch of self appointed turdlike clan gatekeepers like it was in 2012....

JMO......

Having lived in CA and NY, there are some truly remarkable hunting, fishing, & natural resources, in both, that might be considered well kept secrets. You just have to keep out of the big cities, and learn to ignore the press and professional politicians. This holds true for many states.

I spent the first 18 yrs of my life growing up in a small town in the Sierra Nevada mountains in the 60's & 70's..... it was heaven back in the day and I know of what you speak.
Moved to Reno when I was 19 , the Sierra's were still in my backyard and between that and the Northern Nevada desert I was a happy guy.
Decided in the late 1980's the west coast was getting a little crazy so I headed to Montana. I will spend the rest of my days here.....
Sounds like you have made the best of your situation and for that I am happy for you!

Ranger green staying away from Houston is staying away from Wille G’s. My buddy from Houston took me there for lunch a couple months ago. Best meal of my life. On the other side I had to leave is home at 0400 to avoid the morning traffic.
I too have met some fantastic people on the Campfire. Really good people here.
I've enjoyed most here. I can say that during the obama years The Hawk and I would routinely try to out the evil being done and were in turn routinely tarred and feathered by a certain click who mainly are no longer present.

Edit: I am presently looking forward to meeting a member should I pass thru the Frisco area again. A gentleman I would most look forward to meeting.
