I have been looking hard for a Mopar. I looked at many and landed on this one. I wanted something unique, A/C, PS, PB. Hard to find a rotisserie restored Dart. I bought it locally. Damn light so it scoots pretty well too. It's a crate Mopar 360. The underside looks like the exterior, better than new. An earlier sales video and recent photos.
Still got the torsion bar front suspension, as seen in the 5th photo. I like the idea of driving them as original, to get the feel of what made these cars loved so much. You got a lovely ride.
Many years ago my brother in law bought a Dart that was close to the same year as that one,...maybe a couple of years older. It had a blown up 273 in it.
He bought a 383 4 barrel that was in a wrecked Chrysler Imperial,..or maybe a Newport,..and put it in the Dart. The hardest part of the conversion was finding some exhaust manifolds that would fit. He finally found a pair that he could squeeze in there. I don't recall what they came off of.
Nice, love the old mopars, glad to see another one rescued and restored. I had a ‘71 dodge demon, same dual hood scoop hood, 340 four speed. Had it up to 140 mph once upon a time,
Mopar guy from way back.'64 Barracuda 273 4sp,dumped a 360 in a '66 Valiant, graduated to a '69 Formula S 340 'Cuda and the one I wish I still had bought from the original owner '69 Charger R/T 426 Hemi 4sp Dana rear car that I sold during the 1973 gas crunch, when you could'nt give a muscle car away for free!
She's a beauty! I've always had a weakness for good looking Mopars. A friend of mine back in the late 70s and early 80s really liked those 340 Darts. Or maybe he hated them? He killed 4 of them! They kept getting away from him. Another friend had a 71 340 Demon that was one of the quickest street cars I ever saw. He ran low 13s with slicks and open headers. He did what most of us did, ended up getting married and selling it. 7mm
Appreciate the comments gentlemen. It really is a well put together piece. I hope to pick it up tomorrow. Just waiting for the funds to transfer today.
had a 73 dart 4 door, looked like a old lady's car, it ran 12.08 on just the motor and 11.10s when i used the NOS. i built for racing but keep it looking stock, hub caps column sift etc. 4.88 gears, frame connects all that good stuff and a built 360.
That is a beauty. That green vinyl bench brings back memories of a friend's '69 Dart. Even a 318 in those 3,000 lb cars moved pretty quick.
That crate engine is running the newer heads I see. Seeing as how you are running A/C I'm going to bet it isn't the 380 hp motor - cam is pretty wild in that. Do you know which rated engine is in there? And which carb? I have a love for the AFBs and AVSs of the period.
Man that car's gorgeous. I hope you drive it, but you'll spend so much timing cleaning it again!
I’ve been kinda looking around for the same type car. I want the air conditioning but also need a 4 speed to tow behind the motor home. Nice ride you picked up. Ed k

ignore the video title, not sure what kind of medicine is using the person who uploaded it. But on the other hand although he calls it a “HEMI 340” I forgive him as if it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t be able to see this 1500+ horsepower Twin Turbo Plymouth Duster dyno pull. The muscle car actually sports a small block 440 stroker V8 motor boosted by a pair of 76mm turbochargers and the video is from the Mopar Nationals in Hebron, Ohio.

Cool ride EdM, congrats, I put the new tag sticker and insurance papers in my old road runner this morning, need to wash it and drive it into town for a fuel top off, I love the old street brawlers.
I remember the summer after I bought my 340 Dart, Mr. Norm was selling a Dart GSS, he pulled the 340, and replaced them with a 440 magnum. I kicked my self over that!

Mr. Norm is legendary. It arrived yesterday.
And hit the "Hot Rod Nights" at the local burger joint this eve.
A body with small block, I *think* was about 3500 lbs.
Would hope they found and saved the broadcast sheet when the did the resto, and if so would be really cool to see you post that.
lighter my 73 charger with a 440 was 3400' think the a body's were around 2800.
I had a '73 Dart Sport that weighed 3200# with a 318, headers, manual brakes and steering, no A/C, and a full tank of gas. By 1973 they were a little bloated.
