Porsche GT2-RS, factory 700hp no engine power upgrade, fastest time was achieved through improvements in
brakes (pads and brake lines)
suspension (Le Mans 24hr race suspension)
downforce/aerodynamics.
mods attributed to the race car engineers at (MR) Manthey Racing.

shaved 7 seconds off the GT2-RS unmodified record. (same driver, Mr. Lahrs Kern)

My Dodge truck will go that fast!!!
Fast lap times happen with the brakes moreso than the throttle .
That's a speed scrubbing little sumbich .
Also too much HP can create problems over heating tires and getting off of corners fast unless the driver really knows how to manage the power which fatigues the driver .
WOW!!

As a young guy #1 on my bucket list was to race there. I never got the chance, and that's probably why I'm 72 and still alive.

Great Video...

Maybe if you drop it out of a helicopter.
That vehicle which set the record is also the MR race engineers test vehicle, so far its got 50,000 kms of hard spanking
trackwork on the odometer and still going strong...testimony to the already well known fact that Porsche produce one
of the most reliable true daily driver/ supercars on the planet.

the sort of vehicle you can commute to work each day on the autobahn cruizn rock steady at 250 kmh,..
then head for Nürburgring for some fast laps .. grin
