Wouldn’t have known until I heard the voice.

Agreed!
Waylon is one of my all time favorites. From Littlefield, TX.
He also played bass for Buddy Holly From Lubbock. 🤠
Always been a toss up for me as to the favorite. Merle or Waylon. Whitley was great, but those two got him beat for me.

That was actually 2 woods. But you are right Cody Jinks is awesome. Another in that type of music is Tyler Childers. Both are carrying on the outlaw tradition.
Willie in the early days is unrecognizable with his buzz cut.

Have 2 more shots and pretend we weren't here. 😉
Done !! smile
Huge Waylon fan here.

I love everything the man did, but if Ralph Mooney played on it, it was even better!

Carry on.

waylon's mom lived two houses from my grandmother in littlefield, i met him and jessie when i was kid and would spend summers there.
Her singing voice is more than enough to make me stop and lose track of what I was thinking.
My Waylon favorites were "Lonesome, Ornery and mean" and "Good Hearted Woman", but he had a bunch of good songs. Bought all his records back in the day. Still have them somewhere.
In 1970 Waylon bought a club in Scottsdale called JD”s and i lived about 50 yards behind it while going to ASU. Not exactly conducive to achieving academic excellence. He gave me a royal ass chewing for dancing while he was singing the first time i went there while he was playing. That was quite the club. I went up on stage one whiskey filled night and was hypnotized by Dr Dante. I did a Flip Wilson imitation and i still have no clue why.
