These edge ads are so annoying! They pop up on every page. How do you turn them off? Under Safari, on my iPhone, I have the pop-up blocker turned on, yet these buggers are persistent!
Ublock origin.

Firefox addon

Chrome

I'd say it should be a sticky, but I think Ric might be concerned it would go against his business model.
Will this add-on change or modify anything else?
Ublock won’t work on ios (iPhone).
Until recently I was able to avoid the edge add by browsing on firefox. Something changed in the last couple of weeks and now that pervasive crap is on firefox too!
I constantly hear people griping about pop-ups, using phones for internet. Easy answer, Don't do that!!! Use Windows, Mac or Chrome, NO MORE ADS, with the right blockers.

I don’t even know what that means. I am a tech idiot. Are you saying I should be using Firefox or chrome instead of Safari? Not even sure I know how to do that as my iPhone has Safari already installed.

Better let the 5G folks know everyone is going back to desktops, and the use of phones for web browsing has been a failed experiment ...
Good luck.

Hopefully someone with the current iPhone solution can walk you through it. Typically, there's very specific browser with very specific blocking software that will work. Android here with zero issues.

LOL My phone is more powerful than my laptop, or so it seems. Certainly does more.

^^^ THIS ^^^

I don't know how the hell anyone can surf the web on a phone to begin with, I have tried it and it's more of a pain in the ass than it's worth.

Wrong phone maybe....

Might as well cut our own balls off and buy a hummingbird feeder.

I haven't laid hands on a real computer in 3 years.

Most of my posting is done on the fly while on a tractor, laying under a truck, on a ladder, while grilling, while hunting, at traffic stops, drive thru's, pumping gas. lol

I rarely complain about pop-ups or ads. I don't even seem to get them apparently as bad as others. Then again, I don't browse granny porn.

Those are add-ons for browsers. I use firefox on my android phone and it has the linked add-on installed on it. I'm not an iPhone guy, so I can't help you there.
OK, so I figured out how to download Chrome and made sure it’s ad blocker was on. But no difference, still the same edge pop-ups. From what I read from others here, it’s just something we have to deal with.

This site is great for its traffic and breadth of info, but sure is hard to navigate compared to many other forums out there. The pop ups, the difficulty posting pics, and the cumbersome search feature. I shouldn’t complain since it’s free, but it sure could use an update!
You just don't have the right setup yet. It's a pain but there's thousands of us not experiencing the problems you are. Hopefully someone will be able to help.

Same
I don't know if it's available for iphones but for android anyway Adblock has their own browser. I've been using it for a few days and nothing has got by it so far. Search google play for 'adblock browser'.

edited to add: It's available on iphones. Search on apple app store for it.

Maybe you should.....😂🤣😅
I wonder why Adblock works flawlessly for some, but not others. I installed Adblock on my iphone back in 2015 and have never seen a pop up, chevy ad, or any type of advertisement whatsoever on this site. I repeat, I have never seen an ad on 24hcf. I use Adblock.

Well, no problems here. Or anywhere. Don't know the current IPhone solution but on Android phone, running Firefox and UBlock Origin works. With the exception of about 10 hours a few months ago, it's been working for years. No pooups, redirects, nada. Same deal on the PC but using Chrome. So, what are you using, exactly?

What platform {iPhone? Android, phone tablet?) , what browser and is it simply called Adblock, or is there more to the name?
Hey Boomer, can you talk me thru settin the clock on my microwave?

Yep, hit popcorn, start and then stop it before you see flames. I hope this helps.
Corn Pop,? he's a bad dude- Biden will tell you

Yep, chains and razors.

Another point. There's usually some settings that might help. Like active the Adblock software, disable "allow popups" , chit like that....
Boomer, regular old Adblock, on 3 yr old Iphone 5 I believe. I use Safari. I don’t see ads on any website I visit.

[Linked Image]
what is the price of that?
Heard folks need to go in and turn the Adblocker on, on the iPhone....
AdGuard Pro. I use it on my iphone with Safar and have no more issues. Its meant to work with Safari but doesn't do much for Chrome
Paid the $2 for Adblock and downloaded it. Doesn’t work. Edge adds still persist! Argghhh!
$2 for Adblock? It's free on phones and online.

Yah, and you need to turn it on.
Come on guys, some people are just destined to have pop ups!
The apple App Store said $1.99 for Adblock. And it doesn’t work. Bamboozled! Yes, it’s turned on.
I get the edge pop up on every page as well (chrome on andriod). As of today i get the edge pop up thing even while using the adblock browser.

Pop ups and redirects have been a problem since i starting coming to this forum. What gives? I have zero proble.s on other forums that im a regular on.

No doubt, it's here... Nobody disputes it. It ain't no good.

Android (phone, not tablet, right?), Firefox browser (NOT CHROME ON THE PHONE), Ublock Origin add-on... (NOT ANY OTHER SIMILAR SOUNDING THING)
This works. Have you tried exactly this? Would you try exactly this?

Can you do more? Like delete your browsing history, clear cache, delete cookies? Then restart. Not sure the terms used on the iPhone. HELP...
I tried the adblock before adguard pro. It worked for a short amount of time. Just save yourself the headache and go to adguard pro. It takes a little time to setup but I've been popup free on safari since using it
Will absolutely try it. Thanks boomer

Download and use "Brave" as you browser. Presto, no more ads.
Good luck dudes!
Problem = "smart" phone.

Solution = obvious.
This site has become so slow and the Edge ads so irritating that it has cut down my time here. I doubt if that is what the owner or the ad people want but it is reality. I'm surprised that Rick has allowed the Edge ads, because they are SO irritating. I have to wait at each step for them to make their tricky jump that makes me click on the ad if I don't wait it out. Talk about bait and switch! When the site slows too much or the ads bug me too much, I leave rather than finish what I'd come for. Almost every departure of mine is now from annoyance rather than finishing reading or posting. Other sites are now more enjoyable.

I'm a long time guest here and it annoys me that I need to try to find a fix for ad assaults allowed by my host.
I said it before...go to Google Play or Apple Store and download the free Adblock browser. I've been using it for a week and NOTHING has got past it.

Imagine that....

Any new success guys?

The potential solution has been mentioned hundreds of times. If you don't want to do anything proactive about it, you've arrived right back where you started...
Wandered by this morning and now the site is much faster, without the Edge ads!

Thank you Rick!!!

Twice ads have popped up and asked if I wanted them to go away. I clicked yes and it said that google would try to never show me that ad again.
