I did not since my employer supplies my medical insurance BUT found out last week that the per-authorization I am waiting for would not be needed if I had added the free Medicare part A.

Happy Birthday from one Whelen enthusiast to another, next month's birthday will be my 70th and I am going to celebrate with a week of whitetail hunting in KY. Will be taking the .35 for it's last hunt, it has proven to be a great rifle and cartridge combination, it is a Randall Redman rebore of a pre'64 Super Grade M/70.

I talked to a man today that is a project superintendent on a building of ours that is being remodeled. I ask him how old he was, 74 was his reply. I ask him if he started taking his SS at 66. He told me no, I’m waiting until I retire to start taking it. I almost fell down when he told me that. He had lost almost 250,000 dollars if he had started at 66. He would have been getting at least 2500.00 a month for 8 years. I was flabbergasted. I ask him how much his SS statement is telling him he will get. He said 3200.00 a month. He could have been getting that since age 70. I wonder how many people are out there like that.

I did at 62 my friend who is 3 days older than me waited until he was 68. He died last year at 69!!

My wife worked her entire life until was 53. She enabled me to retire at age 60. Her cancer cost her a lot of wages. I can always find something to do.
I can go for a motorcycle ride or shoot prairie dogs
Now that the summer is almost over I can go dancing with younger women.
