I really need to try to come. I was at Vanzant not to long ago in the summer purchasing a lawnmower from an individual. Was kind of surprised to learn there really ain't a Vanzant it's just kind of the area I guess about 1 hour from the house
heck Id, youre practically a neighbor. sign up! vanzant is for the most part the junction superstore at 76 and 95....and that church. the meeting hall/annex/cemetery is about 1000 yds down W past the sharp curve near black gate farm. 5 miles later....turn on AH and there I be! no one leaves sad for losen'. we have a good ole time, then go to club 60 for dinner.

Great thing about some of these campfire deal actually get to meet people you talk to on the internet even people you been a little cross with or been best friends with pretty cool situation.

Please make this a tradition if it’s not already. I’d love to make the trip but this year is definitely out after my second shoulder surgery. Hopefully by next year I’m retired and have more time to drive and play. This sounds like a lot of fun.

I cold called about 50 names (with state i.d's on the user profile pages,) inviting you. ironically, because it blinks all the time...you may not know you have mail! pm me back with a yes or no. so far 5 or so called saying they couldn't make it due to work or prior commitments.
I have 8 guys checking work schedules. if they all clear...we will have 19 at the shoot.
I just pm'ed 25 more 24hr members. no response yet. not bad overall.....of the 75 I called, only 2 outright deleted me w/o a response one way or another.

Rather than over reacting, I’d rather just let all my friends know where I stand concerning the pandemic as of today.
First, the meet will not be canceled. If only 1 person shows, then 1 person will win.
Second, I will comply with the commander and chiefs suggestion to be a team player concerning gatherings.
a) I suggest the club 60 gathering be canceled. Though club 60 is open and reservations are made as of 18 march, it may be wise not to gather. Keep in mind, the shoot is 3 weeks away, and the commander and chief said to refrain for 2 weeks. It may lift.
b) Our shooting group right now is within size recommendations of 10. It may increase. Keep in mind, we are an unincorporated town, therefore we are not under any mandatory orders or quarantine laws.
c) You can pot luck if you want. Im treating you all as my family at a dinner table. We bless the food for a reason and I believe in the power of prayer.
d) Wash your hands if you stopped anywhere enroute to vcpf, before arriving. Take all your trash with you. Remember, I handle all the trash and vcpf and clean up after you leave. Please don’t put me at risk thru trash.
e) I will not offer my hand to shake. If you don’t want me to shake your hand, tell me. As many know, we arent big huggers, So please don’t.
f) Please leave a clean bathroom for the next person.
g) Call me if you cant make it. If you choose to exercise social distancing, I will totally understand.
Otherwise, see you 3-4 Apr. call me. Internet service here at the cabin is hot and miss.

well, for those that will brave the elements ...the mystery game is up and running! for those that come, youll be the first to shoot it.
in order to protect each other at the meet, im shutting down the coffee pot and will not sell sodas. everyone needs to bring their own drinks.
the biggest issue will be the dining area. we are under 10 so far, but if wives come and you include me and my wife, we need to limit the number of people per table. i want everyone to consider using the picnic tables outside as an option. we need to just spread each other out some. ok?
and too....keep space while in the serving line.

well, we pulled it off. geobob took all the pics. until i get them, i have nothing to post.
FINALLY, jim L won the trophy and FINALLY after 7 years, joe made it to the 50yd shoot off but struck out.
rain parted, but it remained cold and soggy, but it wasnt a washout.
the mystery event was a duck boat shoot. i took an old john boat and put it down range behind the high house and gave shooters birds from all fields including trap while they sat in the boat. it wasnt as easy as it appeared to many!

our group was small, but we did our social distancing and kept it under 10.
next day, mo locked down.
just got it in in time!

good time had by all.
