Years ago I was at the Kmart return desk on Nov. 1.
Some guy was standing there with his receipt for Halloween candy, insisting he wanted a 50% refund because all of the candy was on post-Halloween sale. He didn't have the candy, just the receipt.
No, I eat homemade candy, it comes in 1 gallon freezer ziplock bags, walnuts, pecans, almonds, raisins, dates, dried cheeries, oats, dark chocolate chips, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm Good!
Lived here for 18 years and never had a trick or treater. Too rural and too expensive for families with kids. Mostly retired people.
Yep. I’m way out in the boondocks. No trick or treaters here.
My place is at the end of the road up in the woods so the first year I was here I didn't anticipate many trick or treaters but I bought a couple of bags just to be on the safe side.
That was 15 years ago and to this day I haven't given out a single piece of candy.
Where we used to live, we'd get 150 to 200 kids. Moved up to Snob Knob and much larger home. Now have about 5 neighbor kids come through. Houses are too far apart.

Who would want it? After 15 years, one piece would last a treater all week.
I like you Sam but whenever I hear someone say something about or refer to “Scrooge” I automatically think of you. You probably don’t get a lot of trick or treaters in a Miami condo which means you don’t get the chance to disappoint as many kids. 😉 😂
there was a thread on a local forum several weeks ago talking about the best places to hit for freebie candy on the day. Mt vernon st is lined with victorian style homes and a lot of people take their kids there. My opinion being an old grinch is if they are past 8th grade, it's done. some commented on the late teenagers running around begging for candy. some actually approved of this because it "kept them out of mischief." If the trick or treater has a real beard, i think it's gone a little too far. we have blacked out the house for years. I don't want the young hooligans casing the house that come out of the section 8 housing project the gooberment decided to shoehorn in the area years ago.
My wife always buys full size candy bars for Halloween. 6-8 years ago, one little boy came to the house and got a candy bar then went home, got his sister and came back. Wife recognizes his costume and says no, you already got one. This kid turns around and farts at her, a big loud one. It was awesome.
Somewhat off subject but relevant to Halloween. Ignore the jerk at the front of the video and skip to 00:36 for the good part. It's funny even for those with a kind heart but the cadre of mean spirited folks here should especially love these.
00:46 for this one.
He does this every year so just search "I ate my kids candy" on youtube for the whole series.
