Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) told Breitbart News on Thursday morning that “we do not have a nation if we don’t have borders.”
Gabbard, appearing with Breitbart News’ editor-in-chief Alex Marlow on Breitbart News Daily on Sirius XM Patriot 125, is among the ten Democratic presidential candidates who have qualified for the fifth debate Nov. 20.
She fielded a variety of question from Marlow, including questions about domestic policy, starting with immigration.
“The reality is that we do not have a nation if we don’t have borders,” she said. “It’s a false choice for people to say you’re anti-immigrant if you support secure borders. That’s just not the case.”
Gabbard is one of the only candidates who has opposed decriminalizing illegal immigration, and who has opposed providing free health care and free college tuition to illegal aliens.
She has criticized President Donald Trump’s immigration policy, but also departed from the radical stances of her rivals. She declared in the second Democratic presidential debate: “We will have to stop separating children from their parents, make it so that it’s easier for people to seek asylum in this country, make sure that we are securing our borders and making it so that people are able to use our legal immigration system by reforming those laws.”
On Thursday, she told Breitbart News that it was possible to achieve a balance: “I think that we can and we must have a secure border policy that’s effective and works, and also reform our immigration system so that it works for our country. It can be a safe and secure border along with humane immigration policy and achieve both objectives.”
On one hand,...she claims not to be in favor of illegal immigration. On the other hand,..she thinks that illegals are entitled to free health care once they get here.
But we do have to separate children from those those claim the children are theirs, until we know that to be true.
Most children who cross the border do not belong by blood to the people bringing them across.
I would not put it past the demonic demoncraps to have skin in the child trafficking rings or at least be sympathetic to it, given their wholesale demands for open borders with no such confirmation.
They are putting these kids at horrendous risk, so the question becomes why.
Demoncraps like Tulsi are the most dangerous, because they hide many of their treacherous beliefs in the closet. The wholesale outing of all the socialists on the dem ticket this year makes them far less dangerous. A snake in the grass is unseen and dangerous . . . a snake on the road way is easily seen and run over.
I like this gal. I hope she wins the nomination, I will have to examine her more closely. Not saying I would vote for her, vs Trump, but I would take a close look.

Oh well, that figures. So much for voting for Tulsi. However, it is surprising to see a Dem making sense on illegal immigration.
Gabbard is a well spoken, fairly photogenic woman with a good handle on the problems with America's problem with its foreign policy in the Middle East,.....and I think she's correct on that.
But she doesn't understand what the effect on the invasion of America means.

Tulsi is a vagabond in the political world. She has no home in the Republican party and no home in the Democratic party. If she wasn't attractive she would have been out of view a long time ago.
Firstly, I appreciate her military service but see she is thin on real-world experience and elected by voters in that supposedly blissful,, constitutionally inept and politically degraded state of Hawaii. She does state some decent and sensible positions on some issues – but seems quite shady on others. And, she comes across as an angry and overly ambitious politician.
Given our current and very serious need for a President who is deeply discerning, Constitutionally principled, unselfish and courageous in leadership for the greatest good of our country – and the knowedge that there are excellent leaders out there - why even give her a second thought?
