Want to explain? Dude has broken bones in his back. He's started 136 straight games for a Chitt franchise.

He plays for the Detroit. Could be the most malmanaged franchise in the NFL for the past 60 + years. When was their last Division title? (1993) Zero Super Bowl appearances. They are the living embodiment of 7-9. In my lifetime they only won 3 Division titles. Best thing he could do is get the hell out of there. I grew up a Lions fan in the Alex Karros - Greg Landry days. They were chitt then and are chitt now.

In at least 4 or the Lions losses this year, he has either given them a lead or a tie game with less than 3-4 minutes to go & the defense has lost the game for them every single time.

Statistically he is a great quarterback. But it takes more than just a quarterback to win. I am not a fan of the Lions but I have to admire him for how well and hard he plays.

He's no Aaron Rodgers

His team sucks really bad though. They have a tradition of losing.

I know, because I am a Lions fan. It’s been like 28 years since the Lions won a “single” playoff game. The best thing that could happen to Stafford football wise is to be traded to a team that could win.

Montana was a great QB, but he wouldn't be a pimple on Stafford's ass if he'd had to play for the Lions his whole career & he couldn't have taken the beating that Stafford has taken either.....he simply would have not survived.

On the other hand, if Stafford had had the luxury of playing with all the talent that surrounded Montana & coached by maybe the best (or one of the best) ever, he would have accomplished as much as Montana did.

Yes and no. Montana likely would have broken down in Detroit. Not sure if Stafford could have equaled or bettered Montana if he had been with San Francisco. Montana had an intangible clutch play ability that I dont think Stafford has. Closest modern quarterback to Montana is Drew Brees. San Diego chose the wrong quarterback.

He's a good, solid quarterback with a rifle arm playing for the Lions.

Why is Detroit so consistently mediocre? Dolphins too, but at least they have some victories from the 70's.

Just a shame that he played for a team that every year had the worst players blocking for him.

I'd say Stafford is at least as good as Dan Marino on a much poorer team. Put Stafford on the Pats and it just might be a step up.
