Arizona man who sold ammunition to Las Vegas massacre gunman pleads guilty

I used to look up to the FBI.

Not anymore. Corrupt AF.
It'll be interesting to see how the sentencing goes. I hope he is sentenced the same as anyone else who didn't secure the proper license. Say for example, an illegal that comes across the border and drives without a license.
Yep. I’m not feeling outrage here, I have no knowledge of what sort of permits he was supposed to have, but it seems he knowingly went into business without it.

He took a risk, it turned around and bit him.

I don’t see tracer ammo on the shelves, so obviously it’s a sort of niche market highly visible to those enforcing regulations. Pretty dumb of the guy in retrospect. Left himself open to lawsuits too.
He sure [bleep] up. I bet he is sorry now!
Local hardware store used to sell tracer ammo way back when, but it was too expensive for me to own. I seem to remember they even had .22 tracer ammo. miles
Back in the 70's I was in a military surplus store and in the back they were selling ammo. It was all 30-06 and 308 FMJ and there was even some armor piercing rounds. I bought 50 rounds of 30-06 armor piercing. A couple of my friends came out and we set up different metal targets at about 50 to 100 yards. Then we preceded to shot holes in all of them. We would check the targets after a couple rounds and there would be these nice little round holes just you you drilled them through with a drill press. Went back to get more and they were gone. Wish I had bought more.
I don't understand what law he broke. It is illegal to reload ammo?

Now he is a felon and will not be able to possess a gun or ammo. BS federal bust.

It is illegal to load and sell ammo without a manufacturer's license.
Shooting holes in mild steel plate is not hard to do. My grandson decided to shoot my 6.5 Grendel into a 3/8" mild steel 8" target we use for 22 LR and pistol practice. It put a nice hole through it at about 90yds. Of course Armor piercing ammo will inflict worse damage to anything in it's path.
IIRC in those days there were a lot of tracer bullets on the market. From a quick scan of the article I'm guessing that guy was replacing bullets in ball surplus ammo with tracers. Pretty much guessing but it would make for a nice cottage industry.

.. yep, but you better have the proper licenses and it would be wise, given the sue-happy times we live in, to have substantial liability insurance.

Velocity defeats steel, every time.
Selective enforcement assures a scapegoat.
A lot more unanswered questions about the shooting. than
Where he got the ammo seems like the least.
When I’ve got my tin foil hat on it screams some kind of mind control .

Local "Texas Gun Trader" has some 30-06 AP rounds for sale.
I thought they were outlawed years ago? But not sure.

Good luck with that!!! eek
If you're in the business for "livelihood" and/or "profit" then you need a license. Which means maybe if a hoarder screwed you on a brick or case of 22LR, you should turn his @$$ in, as revenge.

tracer rounds allow for more precise hits, LOL I see the media never shot tracer rounds for groups, they sucks
When I had a FFL I also had a Manufacturers License. Never used it as liability insurance was out of sight.

Bought a 1000 rounds of milsup ammo once that had been tumbled. All the tip colors had been removed. About every 20th round was a tracer. Most ranges won't let you use it because of fire danger.
The rounds He sold the shooter were .308 rounds.
They were not used in the shooting.
Shooter used .556 ammo.

Not entirely correct.
I don't recall if the .308 was used on human targets but they were utilized during the course of the shooting.

tracers work awsome for shooting propane tanks, we use to get old 20 pounders propane tanks fill with 2 1/2 gallons of gas and fill with 150 psi of air, sit out at 100 yards and shoot it with 3006 tracers and watch the fire mushroom clouds
