Hello Campfire.com members. I've been lurking for some time now, finally joined up. I"m impressed with the amount of knowledge on the forums here. I'm a hunter and reloader. Been hunting since I was quite young and reloading for 20+ years. I've got a couple projects going on now, a Ruger M77 MKii in 257 Roberts and a WBY Mk5 in 240 Weatherby, both need load development. The 257 for a non-toxic load due to being here in California, (home of the fruits and nuts), and the 240 due to a barrel swap, (I shot out the old barrel). I'll post my progress on the projects as they develop just in case anyone is interested. I currently reload for 223, 240, 243 Win, 257R, 260 Rem, 270 Win, 7mm WSM, 300 Wby, 338-06 and any rifles my friends bring by for help. Glad to be here and thanks for any past members posts that have helped me with past projects. Yaddio
Hold on now! You may not be welcome here. You load for the 270 (which is gay) and don’t load for the 7mm-08 or the 6.5 Creedmoor? Talk about getting off on the wrong foot.......
Welcome to the “fire”! And, have you considered seeking psychological help? If not, make your appointment now.....you’ll likely need help! Don’t bring the .270 Win. to the couch with you.....you need to start the separation as soon as possible. If you feel you must have a 270....make sure it’s grains weight, and not caliber! memtb
Convert that 270 to another 338-06 and your presence here will be somewhat acceptable. I will not hold the California residence against you because I spent some of my life there before making my escape, so long as you intend to leave ASAP.
Tip on the 338-06- 210 Nosler, 53 grs Reloader 15.
A hearty welcome from the Land of Enchantment. (I now say enchanted instead of BS). You must be courageous to be here.
Or foolhardy.
Share your progress but don't mention the 270 again until you have grown a thick hide. You will enjoy yourself and may provide some education for the assembled, unwashed, deplorable masses here at the Fire.
Welcome from a fellow Californian. When I first came here I didn't know that if you own a 270 you might as well be wearing Richard Simmons shorts and a pink feather boa. I had no idea. Thought it was a pretty good caliber.
Thanks to all for the kind, heart warming, 270 friendly welcome, even to someone that lives in California, (home of the fruits and nuts), I'm feeling warm and fuzzy all over.

Where do you get brass for that 7wsm... Enquiring minds want to know.
Bring thick skin. A 260 man! You must have courage to mention that in your opening salvo!

I bought 150 brass cases back a few years ago right after I bought the rifle. Good thing too. The 260 is a Rem 700 bull barrel target rifle. I got a great deal on it back a few years ago. Gunshop said it was confiscated in some drug raid. It was new in box. Never did too much with it.

Graf and Son's has some 7mm WSM made by Hornady in Stock. Expensive, but they have it.
Californians have to work to be accepted here. You could spread it out over many years,....or,...you could go over to Leroy Beans house, sock him in the nose, and be accepted immediately.
Niphomo? Begging your pardon, but if your community isn't populated with lots of gays with a Japanese ethnic background, well, color me disappointed. And welcome, BTW.

Trucks, how many and 2wd or 4wd? FFP or SFP? Mil or Moa? There's a whole list of stuff you're going to have to take sides on. It's not for the faint of heart.

Hard to dig out of this one... I'm originally from Upstate NY, Adirondack Mts, still spend a lot of time there since I'm now retired. I married a California girl half way thru my Navy career and by the time I retired from the Navy kids, family, etc were too established here. No one wanted to move back there, something about being allergic to snow. I call my wife my "Anchor Baby". I still get to go back and hunt with my high school buddies most years, (with my awesome 270 Winchester). Fish every summer in local lakes and rivers. I miss it back there.
Fires getting a little scary here just south of me. Supposed to rain tonight, 1st time since last spring. Hope that helps put it out.
I liked CA 50 years back. Went away for a short while and first thing I had to do was knock 3 Hairy Krishnas on their butts when I returned. Helluva welcome home. Never went back after that.
You hand load the .22 RF by any chance? Been upside down in a chopper lately? Why don't you shoot black powder?

That's no doubt because Joe Biden is rubbing against you. Better look behind you!
PS Was that a smidge much? I mean the commie part was ok, right? Maybe the death thing could have been edited out. It’s just difficult to know how hard to go on a new person from California. Sooo confusing with a lot a variables that can sway a post one way or another.

Umm, No Sir, Mr. Geno...I picked it up right here on the Fire after listening to all our smartest and brightest racist members speak about California, Oregon, Washington, parts of Colorado and Idaho.

Keep it up, you're getting there.
If Travis/Dave/Clark were still around they could give you some more lessons.

I retired young just so I can hunt and fish and get special treatment on hunting forums. Still kicking and scratching and not yet 60.

60? If you'd been around for the recent "age reveal" thread you'd know at 60 you're just a pup here. These guys are mostly old, old and some even older than that. Might even be a few that voted for Herbert Hoover.
Oh hell Yaddio, just put up with these guys. Why, they even let me stay here, and I'm from Ca. Toss it back at 'em once in a while and you'll be fine. Keep the .270 responses at full tilt and you'll have conversation forever here. Batter up!
