I forced myself to go take a leak in the toilet.

It seemed like a lot of trouble,.....but if ya gonna drink 8% beer,..there's a price you have to pay to remain respectable.

Pissin' in the proper place is the absolute minimum.

Samuel Adams Unveils 2019 Utopias Barrel-Aged Extreme Beer

“Since it was first brewed, Sam Adams Utopias has been nothing short of a labor of love. As brewers we take pride in everything we make, but there’s something special about putting such a unique, extreme beer in the hands of not only the craft beer community but our coworkers,” says Jim Koch, founder and brewer, Samuel Adams.

This sought-after beer requires a time-intensive, multiyear brewing, aging and blending process. Like its predecessors, 2019 Utopias is a blend of earlier batches of Samuel Adams’ extreme beers, which have been aging in wooden bourbon casks from Buffalo Trace Distillery. Brewers took portions of this beer and transferred them to Aquavit, Carcavelos and ruby port barrels to impart complex flavors to the beer.

This year, brewers also experimented with Cognac and Madeira finishing barrels which enhanced 2019 Utopias with distinct vanilla notes and subtle nutty and elegant dark fruit aromas. As a final step, and to add a slightly tart note, brewers blended in a touch of Kosmic Mother Funk (KMF), a wild ale that is fermented for two years in Hungarian Oak foeders at the Boston Brewery. Only 77 wooden casks of Utopias were brewed this year, creating the highest naturally fermented beer at 28 percent alcohol by volume (ABV).

Samuel Adams Utopias can be found at select specialty beer and liquor stores for a suggested retail price of $210 per bottle. Price varies by market and availability is limited, where laws allow.

Utopias is not shipped to or sold in 15 states including: AL, AR, GA, ID, MO, MS, MT, NH, NC, OK, OR, SC, UT, VT, and WV.

Cannot afford anything like that but fond of “Mosaic” beer. IIRC! it’s about 8.5. Good mouth feel and relatively smooth.

After you finish the bottle, you might see this come out of it:

I'm no beer connoisseur. My criteria is,....high alcohol content that doesn't taste like donkey piss.

It's not like I'm taking a slash out of an aluminum can then talking about, "Rich hops aftertaste with a hint of oak".

I take a slash,...lean back,.. and think,.."Good buzz and haven't puked. This'll work".

New Belgium VooDoo Ranger Imperial. 9%. Low enough ABV to prevent EtOH backlash but high enough to enjoy the aftereffects.Malty. Not like eating grapefruit skin but similar to good fruity pink meat grapefruit (no word play intended). Icehouse Edge. Much better than a sharp stick in the eye. Actually not bad when searching for an actual taste and the ability to hold a head for long enough to tickle your mustache (again, no presumptuous hidden word games here).

16 proof? Take your can of Miller Lite, add a shot of Everclear and you're up to a little more than 26 proof.

La Fin Du Monde

I’ll take mine as a triple golden. Those Quads are dark and chocolatey. Not my idea of a good beer.

Most beers I drink are the high alcohol content. Triple fermented is good. Double / Imperial IPAs or any Cascade Hops type beer no thanks. As was said already. Tastes like a grape fruit.
