An interesting list of national retailers who keep Christ in Christmas. Some are neutral. And some are forgetting the Reason for the Season.

There's a sign outside the Sawtooth National Recreation Area office in Ketchum, ID:
"Holiday Tree cutting permits available here".

The government is one of the 'nots'.
If you're going to take Christ out of Christmas, then go to work on December 25th and leave us Christians alone to celebrate the birth of our Savior.
I am thinking this is the way it should be....

As for me and my house.......we will keep Christ in Christmas. After all, I am a bitter clinger and proud of it! Merry Christmas!

Can I get my Kwanzaa Tree there??
Merry CHRISTmas, to all of you renegades !
May Peace reign through out the year, for all !
Christmas is Christmas. Nothing else. You can have all the events you want on December 25th, and call whatever you’re doing, whatever you want.

But everyone know it’s Christmas.....and know’s what Christmas is all about. Sadly, many choose not to.

You can’t have Monday on a Tuesday either.

Nope. You have to steal it out of the cemetary.

Tuesday seems like Monday if I take Monday off.
Irritates me to see Xmas - sad that a person can't spell Christmas without butchering it to hades .
Saying Merry Christmas isn't the same as saying 'Go fu ck your mother' but to some it is. To those I feel truly sorry for.

People today have no understanding of the word intent.
Miss_Lynn,

Thanks for that picture. I copied it and will send it to my brother.
Christ is the reason for the Christmas season.

Thank you, Lord, for all the wonderful times I've had because of You in 70 years of Christmases.

Father Christmas - the traditional English name for the personification of Christmas.

Father Christmas himself first appearing in the mid 17th century in the aftermath of the English Civil War. The Puritan-controlled English government had legislated
to abolish Christmas,[considering it papist], and had outlawed its traditional customs.

Royalist political pamphleteers, linking the old traditions with their cause, adopted Old Father Christmas as the symbol of 'the good old days' of feasting and good cheer.
Looks like Christ kinda took it over for good, huh?

I guess HE kinda owns all and uses whatever HE wishes as HE wishes. whistle

something that jagX ardently reminds the CF of ...

Matthew 23:9

"And do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven".

accordingly, Jags life is void of father-in-laws, Father Christmas and Americas founding fathers.
Biggest attorney in Clarksville Tn (population 160,000) buys a dozen Lamar billboards every year reminding anyone that sees it to keep Christ in Christmas.

Been doing to for 25+ years
The best ever gift anyone could ever receive is Salvation from The Lord Jesus yes I know some will say a pole
It may be we should put a cross up in our homes at the marking of Our Savior's birth.
You could also use the fish symbol.[acronym ΙΧΘΥΣ- ichthys] , if it floats your boat.

I – Iota or Iesous - Greek for Jesus
X – Chi or Christos - Greek for Christ
И – Theta or Theou - Greek for God
Y – Upsilon or Yios/Huios - Greek for Son
У – Sigma or Soter - Greek for Savior

Yeah, but you can have gay marriage, so Monday is Tuesday and 1 and 1 is three.

But I'll be celebrating Christmas.

What does the Christmas Tree have to do with Christ??

Former pagans began celebrating the birth of Christ...
No, the Pagans were celebrating earth and the solstice... holiday tree would be correct, or in Rock Chucks case, waded panties for no reason tree.

Paganism works in mysterious ways.

You do know that's a mix of English and Greek, right? Most folks seem to forget that the original manuscripts of what became the New Testament canon was written in Greek.

It's sad, but I know of people who think that King James era English is the original Bible language.

We can put up a wadded panties tree?
Did not know that , thought it was written out of laziness .
Hi Jim - thanks for the lists.

some like to be educated, but many prefer to remain ignorant and offended about 'Xmas'.

I know of those types also.

and others don't know the first full hand written English translation Bible [before the printing press]
or the first massed produced Bible.

names like Wycliffe-Purvey and Tyndale are alien to them.

1450s Gutenberg invented the printing press with first book to ever be printed being a Latin Bible.

Nothing at all officially, but we celebrate CHRIST at CHISTmas and the trees are a tradition. They've tried to remove the name CHRISTmas from the celebration. Some have even suggested we return to celebrating on the solstice which is going back to celebrating pagan gods instead of CHRIST.

My family will continue to worship God through the miracle of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior!..

It was easy to convert many pagans to Christianity since paganism didn't work but for a few.

Much like socialism. It never turns out as they say it will.

Same can be said for Christianity.

Your right, in 392 Theodosius prohibited Paganism, and in true Christian form... the destroyed all the Pagan Temples and killed the practicing Pagans hahahahaha

He has risen hahahaha
Christ will always be in Christmas, but there are 8 or 9 different holidays celebrated during November and December plus New Years day. About 1/2 of them religious. There is absolutely nothing wrong with saying "Happy Holidays" at this time of year. Having one phrase to cover them all makes a lot of sense. In fact the phrase was originated over 100 years by Christians to as a courtesy to Jewish and other people who don't celebrate Christmas.

There is absolutely nothing offensive about the phrase X-Mas

Christmas trees, Santa, and Black Friday have nothing to do with Christ.

There are too many of my Christian friends who are too easily offended.
So Christians should be dour and pray quietly with the lights turned down? Only pagans can have fun?
Merry Christmas to those who chose to except it.
We certainly do in this neck of the woods. I can’t imagine any other way.

Prior to the christians doing such , the pre -Jesus monotheistic Jews had gone around the lands doing a lot of destroying
of the ways of pagan worship, cause they had an agenda > to eliminate rival Gods and centralise control with their mono-God system.

Norse kings eventually supported conversion of pagan vikings to christianity for much the same reason... control.
I mean why have autonomous/independent groups of pagan Norseman conquering, destroying, raping, pillaging, enlsaving , etc
when you can have a program of centralised control of such under one Christian Norse king?

How pagan vikings played the game with christinanity;

I like the term 'festive season' Nov - Jan.

I agree. I have pointed that out to people who used that term.
