I have all the symptoms but my blood work has come back and says I'm fine. I guess I will just have to get off my ass and motivated to work out.
What blood tests did you get? I was feeling tired all the time 7 years ago when I went for my yearly physical so my Doc added the tests for thyroid and testosterone levels and they both came back normal except for the TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) which was a little high. I went back for another blood test for T3 and T4 levels (created by the thyroid) and they were both normal.
I'm feeling tired again (I'll be 77 next month) so I decided to get my thyroid and testosterone levels checked again. Instead of waiting for my yearly physical I did the tests myself. Actually a friend told me about the website healthtests.com where you can create an account and schedule lab work. The results come directly to you. I scheduled some lab work Dec 4 and got the results Dec 12:
1) Thyroid-TSH high but T3 and T4 was normal, same as 6 years ago. Cost $99.00
2) Testosterone- total 458 and free 7.4, my Doc didn't test the free level years ago but my total level was a slightly higher on this test. According to the lab report normal testosterone levels for males ages 19-39 are: total 294-916 and free 6.6-18.4. Cost $89.00
I guess my free T is kind of low but I still wake up with a boner most mornings and don't have ED yet. I'll ask my Doc what he thinks when I get my next physical. I would rather not take testosterone since I have a family history of prostate cancer and I don't want to grow tits. I think I'm probably tired from worrying about all the things I want to get done before I kick the bucket.
