This one is a toss up, no matter which way you normally lean regarding the privacy of PM's ...

In general, I consider the PM's I receive to be private, even in the case I realize they sent me a PM simply because it is the easiest way to make sure I get the message ... and I hope that people that I send PM's to consider them the same way I do ... however, I cannot expect them to live by my rules...

But, with a PM as harsh as that one, showing such an extreme level of immaturity and vindictiveness, I think it does us all some good to know precisely what kind of person we are dealing with concerning BH ... However, I have to leave at least a little wiggle room for the possibility that Blake said something to provoke him ... however, knowing Blake, I can't imagine him having said or done something worthy of receiving a PM like that ...

Personally, I didn't need to see the contents of that PM to know that I have no interest in listening to what BH has to say ... regardless of what topic he's speaking on ... I saw enough in other threads to know what I need to know.

In any event, I don't hold it against Blake for posting it, but would prefer (if it were my decision to make) that PM's remain private, and dealt with between the two individuals exchanging PM's ... note: I understand that BH put Blake on ignore, making it impossible to respond directly to BH ... that's kinda tough to deal with, I guess ... but if it were me, I'd have simply posted that I received a PM that was way out of bounds, and made the rest of us here aware of BH's immaturity and somewhat "evil" (for lack of a better word) nature ... just in case anyone here has not already come to that conclusion about him.

If I'm going to get in somebody's cyber-face, I'll do it publicly, where other members can call BS if it's unwarranted. My PMs are much more cordial, and well, private. I've had extensive friendly PM correspondence with people with whom I was simultaneously conducting ideological war on the open forums like IIFID and even old Bristoe.
Of course, if you're on ignore, it's hard to keep the conversation private, I guess.

There were no threats made in any way, shape, form or fashion period. What you are seeing is only one email message that is being taken out of the proper context. Without seeing everything that had transpired previous to this you are only seeing a part of the scenario. Would you actually render prudent legal advice with out going thru the discovery process? I certainly would think not, so to render judgment is somewhat premature in this case. The court of �internet forums� can be a very slippery slope indeed but one must see all of the relevant information which is not currently available for public viewing to make an informed verdict.

Now this whole matter is quite a source of amusement for me and I feel just a little and I do mean a little guilty for spinning Blake up but he did ask for it! By responding to his very vile and offensive email I knew that by placing him on ignore would absolutely infuriate him and cause him great emotional trauma as evidenced through his actions and documented in earlier posts. I was leaving for the ranch for a few days and knew that by him not being able to get the satisfaction of actually SENDING me a response that it would cause him strife.
