compared it to last years NG usage........before installing this cute little cast iron stove in basement

December '18 was $4.35 per day......this December was $6.23....running stove all night...10* nights

Pretty happy with purchase & replacement of the time consuming/dirty coal/wood stove...about $2 a day to run the unit

My gas bill is $227, with an electric dryer and no heat in the garage.
If I could connect to NG......I’d be way too d@~n close to town! wink memtb
My NG bill was $63 last month. Even tho we're not living in the house yet, we keep the thermostat at 65. We're painting a lot and doing other work and that keeps it where we can work, no matter the weather outside. Once I get insulation in the attic, I figure it will go down some more. Not sure where it will go when we move in because we will have NG hot water heater, stove and central heat. Dryer is electric.
Well, I kind of dread my NG bill come February. My NG garage heater has been out since the spring. I've had a hard time finding HVAC people that will work on it. First one was a highly reputable company in the area, and the guy totally rewired it and still did nothing. I finally found another company that would work on it, and they came and fixed the first guy's screw ups, and ordered a new mother board for it. I got and installed the new mother board after work yesterday, and it works. The garage is no longer being heated with an electric space heater, and it a lot warmer now the NG heater works.

Right now fighting our York ng Heater. Every year around this time when it get 10 degrees or colder or like today -12 it just doesn’t want to work. York heaters use pressure switches, I hate the damn thing. I guess York heaters are not thought of highly among hvac folks. Anyhow I wish I could put a wood stove or gas stove like your in our current home. We do have a ng fireplace but it does not have the blower motor installed. Of course can find an outfit up here to buy them from. Amazon has them but most wont ship to P.O. Box and fed-ex or ups will charge $100 for shipping..

I got lucky. I live 6 miles from town and when they were going to run NG to a town to the SW of us, it was going to go a mile to the east. Our town threw a fit because it was too close to their facilities (or something like that) so they moved it a mile west which came right through my road ditch. I was able to tap in. Sure beats fuel oil, propane or electric for expense. That is for sure!
Jim some of your neighbors have their own gas wells. Do you not have any mineral rights to your land?
NG is about 1/2 a mile away. I'd like to have it but if it gets here that farm across the road is going to turn into a housing development.

The previous owner that built my house.....had the line extended about 600'......

lucky for me.......that was about 20 years ago......pic...out my back door this morn at sunrise....
