Just shop at Wamart?
I always seem to walk a few miles every time I go there. I'm lucky to get a cart with four wheels, with less then two of them square. I often get a cart that pushes in a big circle, and has a squawky bearing.
After a trip to town I make a new shopping list starting with what I had on a list, and still managed to forget to buy
I could blame some of that on bein' old, but I don't have to tell you folks that.
try to walk a minimum 10K steps daily.......phone records it.......
some days more......some less.......
just had some bacon.....testing out my new Blackstone griddle......
works great.....
Blood pressure ? 106/72
Funny you should post that. I didn't get on my treadmill today, but I did go to Wally's place to pick up an order.
Big signs in parking lot "To Pickup". Parked and walked over there, halfway down the building. "No sir, Pickup is inside the main entrance."
Inside the main entrance is a sign, "Pickup at the Rear of the Store." Walk all the way to the rear. Sign there says, "Pickup is at the FRONT of the store, near the grocery entrance."
Have now walked twice the length of the store, plus the depth. Told a store employee about the confusion and the lying signs. Got a shrug.
Then looked all over the Electronics Dept for an item the website said was in stock at that store. Nope.
Walked back to my car. Have now totaled much of what I would have walked on the treadmill. Whataya know? WalMart keeps ya fit!
I had a tree frog on my kitchen window.
Just tryin' to spread a bit of fun today.
I'd of had a talk with the store manager.
Five times a week on tread mill at a 6% or more incline, 30 plus minutes.

I hunt, farm and log, not necessarily in that order.
12 ounce curls for me.

Jack Squat! Actually, I lift one or two times a week. Go Nordic skiing (skate) for cardio in the winter.
Yes, working around the farm is enough.
Did my 5 miles and threw in some pushups.
Reward is a big ass t-bone on the grill tonight.
Winter's gonna put a crimp in my grilling.......
I'm a carpenter. No need to work out. I normally come home worn out.
I'm in the gym 4-5 days /week. I hate WalMart and try not to go there at all.
I works for the missus of da house. I is her house boy. I doos what she tells me! I do evea thing!!! Else she gonna whup up on me and gets all mean. I don’t got’s not time fo that wookin’ out stuff!!! Uh oh! Here she come. She see me on da fone she put da whup to me!!!

Ohhhhh!!!!
I try and walk as much outside as I can. Sometimes it's all I want to do, sometimes it's not. Walking at Walmart can be like going through an obstacle course here, dodging all the 400 pound Black women on the motorized carts.
When someone comments that I must work out I answer... nope, I just work. The last 40 years I've worked in the concrete trade.
!0 years ago I was in the hospital for the first time, broke my leg on an elk hunt. broke it bad so was in the hospital 3 days. I woman Dr I hadn't seen before comes in with a clipboard... asks if I'm 52... yep... are you a professional athlete... nope... Hmmm, saw your charts and had to come see for myself.
Wife wasn't impressed when I told her.
6 years later I had a kidney stone, finally told the wife to take me to ER... young nurse takes my vitals, comes back and asks... how old are you... 58... are you a professional athlete... nope... wife standing there gives me the stink eye... I just shrugged.

James Jr!
Wife like to kilt me with one of them carts. I was trying to load her damn groceries in the truck! She got all ape-ie with the pedals and all. Pinned my hatchet azz between my truck and back truck door!!! Renched my back all out! I was hollerin’ for her to back up. She just set there laffin!! I kid you not!!! Hurt like all hell for about 3 days!!! She still thinks it’s funny. That was like 2 years ago.
Im sure the 480 lb. wallyworld security camera watchers were having a good laugh.
I biked every day for 12 miles of racing from age 50 to 65.
At 65 I switched to 2 miles of hiking every day.... just as sweaty, without the panting.

3-4 times a week if we are home.
When we are traveling, I try to at least get in a run every couple days.

Thirty minutes on a treadmill, thirty minutes on a stationary bike and twenty minutes on an upper body bike per workout at least three times a week. Time flies watching some of the hot chicks workout at the gym. And there are also some not so hot chicks but then it's a no judgement zone...
Back in the day I was a runner. Ran a lot.
Pushin' eighty, whist pullin' seventy ain't nothing to sneeze at.

We're not designed to go uphill all the time.
I been shoveling gravel in to buckets and carrying them up the driveway to fill pot holes every day for a couple months now.
Feed the dog. Scoop the poop. Walk down the drive to dump the poop. Carry the buckets over to the low gravely spot and fill 'em. Carry it all a couple hundred yards and dump 'em.
I figure a full bucket of gravel weights about 50 pounds and I do that 2 or 3 times a day or more. Sometimes 10 if I'm out a lot that day.
No, I don't don't "work out" much though.
I try to make time to workout. I feel better physically and mentally when I do. My favorite exercise is bicycling, and we are blessed to have a network of dedicated paths on the levees here. I have had 3 left knee surgeries and have a torn meniscus and two cysts in my right knee. Lately the pain has made bicycling unbearable. I am putting off surgery as long as I can, but I am afraid the day is nearing. I have been lifting more and more since my 5th shoulder surgery. I have half an artificial joint. I can't do much. I Just pushed my bench press workout to 5 sets of 12 reps with 165 on the bench machine. I don't have enough stability without a socket component to use free weights. I did 60 pushups in 60 seconds before my shoulder replacement. I haven't really tried much since then because each time I tried it really stressed my joint. About an hour ago my wife asked me if I could do pushups. I told her I didn't think I could. I did 35 in one minute and was spent. My joint didn't complain as loudly as I thought it would. That was encouraging.
Damn, if I didn't have joint issues...
Weights 3 times a week (bench press, squats, Pendlay rows, deadlifts + variations and misc others) and cycling once a week. I'm a bit of a spectator at the gym too - there's some seriously strong men and women out there.
Juggle every other day.
Cats and chainsaws.
Sounds dangerous - cats have claws
Over the last year I've learned one cannot outrun a bad diet. Monitor intake and workout/run/walk 4-5 days a week. Gotta keep that heartbeat up.

That’s a workout I’d pay to see!
Don't have time to do it in a dedicated way.
But my phone said i walked over 7,117 steps, walked 3.2 miles and climbed i flight of stairs.
No wonder i feel tired.
Damn, if I didn't have joint issues...
Check with the Oregan members.
I bet they roll good joints.
Sure, well I dont know if it counts, but yeah, framing houses from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every day but Sunday...
I guess I should have said I at least
Walk and since my eye trouble I am walking everywhere.

If nothing else they have good joint pain medicine.
No, too damn lazy, general farm work, just cut another load of firewood yesterday, speaking of wal-mart, we haven't been in over four months due to their anti-2A ceo, Wife got offers for 1000 dollar gift cards three times via text message from wal-mart, I ask how she usually paid them, she said credit card, guess those commie sombitches have been wondering why her cc number hasn't been popping up.
The texts went unanswered, they are dead to her now!
I work out- outside! Single digits this am and 120 big calves to put through the chute.
Poor farmers concrete is finally here (the dirt-manure lot is froze hard) so we can get our chute up to the alley.
Most days I walk like Grandpa McCoy. Or Fred Sanford.
Hence the overalls

Most days now after riding in the truck home from work, I can straighten up about when I hit the front door.

Yeah, Kent. Well be out like hunting camp and I’ll get up to donsomething and if one of the boys has a cell signal he will pull up the theme song from Sanford and sons. Knees have gotten lots worse.
Current malady is right shoulder. Won’t be long it will be pretty useless. I just take my time.
I'm there with you on the right shoulder, hard to sleep at night. 40+ years of swinging swinging 8lb stake hammers and troweling concrete.

Yeah! Mine was frm driving 60d’s in asphalt surfaces!
When I started, was trying to make a Walmart joke.
Daily -- a stretching strength program for knees and hips of 45 minutes, walk min 10 Km (6 miles) and try to maintain a monthly average of 15 km (9 miles).
Every 2nd day add in a 30 minute weight / stretching program for lower back, knees and balance.
The knee rehab has come along very well. I am no longer in need of a brace for walking and can walk up hills without help from sticks.
When I started, was trying to make a Walmart joke.
We know! 😊
Good Morning Wabi,
Walking, muscle strengthening, meditation to help with the stress factor.
Lynn
Yes! Every day!
From my bed....to my sofa....then to my truck....to go get my coffee...then back to my patio and sofa!!
Being young was fun!
Ride my Mtn bike to work daily when weather permits ~ 10 miles per day. When the weather is crappy I try to put 30 minutes at least every other day on the spin bike. Hate the gym.
Over the last year I've learned one cannot outrun a bad diet. Monitor intake and workout/run/walk 4-5 days a week. Gotta keep that heartbeat up.
Diet is King, Workout is Queen... you can't overcome a crap diet with exercise.
But working-out is like flossing teeth (only floss what you want to keep).
I have a 5 mile circuit in the foothills where I live that I walk 6 days a week carrying a ~10lb rifle, no sling. Out the door at 6am, back to the shack by 8am. One day off for good behavior...
Alternate days I'm also wearing a back pack with either 20, 30, or 50lbs of iron slab.
These days I'm getting the miles in on snowshoes.
Rower, 20 minutes every other day. Minimum impact on knees and hips, mostly works shoulders and arms.
12 ounce curls for me.
The best part is that they get lighter the more you do.
I get yer drift, Brian !! & like it a lot, too.
At 53 & 2/3rds, I don't work out.
But, I'm not lazy & stay "outdoorsy" active.
5' 11" & 188lbs.

good friend had a heart attack 3 nights ago, just 3 years older than me.
in better shape than me too

😁😁😁😁😁
Speakin' of whippersnappers Bob, remember what they say about throwin' stones!
Well I tip my old hat to all those who do work out Richard!! More power to ‘em!
I need to get in shape Bob, I might start in a day or so.
I’m just wishin’ for a good nights sleep Richard.
Still kinda train for competition lifting, but I might be retired....I was a bench specialist, but of course, squat and deadlift, as well as accessory work. Still over world record for my age (65) and weight (174) level raw, around open 181 drug tested world record level, with my bench shirt. Waaaaay over age group, there, at 520 or so. Toying with one more competition, but I dunno. Expensive, and not a lot of gumption anymore. Still fun to lift though.
Benchman, congratulations, even harder to lift is the mood of old 'fire some gloomy nights.
Deadlift
Zercher squat
Anderson squat
Bench
Overhead press
Why Zercher squats ? What is an anderson squat ? Regular squats give you all you need.
The traditional back squat compresses L4 and L3 but offers absolutely zero muscle activation to the upper body.
The zercher requires you to stay in full upper body flexation throughout the movement AND doesn't risk injury to the spine.
Actually in contrast the zercher builds the strength in the core.
Anderson's are bottom up ass to grass squats.
I set the bar at just above the knees then get under it and squat up then down to a full stop ( muscle relaxer) then up again.
Much harder than starting at shoulder level.
Try zercher. I'm a buck fifty and I zercher 315. It'll make you crazy f'n strong.
12 ounce curls for me.

Yeah, I'm like you, just a little older. Almost 59. I spent 30 years in the stone yard lifting heavy schit all day long and never needed to work out. I was solid as a rock. Now I've got guys to do all of the heavy lifting and my six pack is starting to turn into a keg. My son says I have "old man strength", but the last couple of deer I killed about kicked my ass. I still stay pretty active outside as much as possible though.
porn hub every morning....
porn hub every morning....
Quite possibly the reason for my shoulder problems???
Opa!
ringworm, I'm too old and crippled to workout with squats and DL now. All I can do now are one arm dumbell rows and concentration curls, and shouldn't even do that. Have already had an operation for neck problems and had a spinal cord stimulator implanted on my spine.

Hearin ya, our Son, Doug, is a lean mean fighting machine. Stayed like that from his football days.
Super strong for his long, lean frame, 3rd year truck & coach apprentice, so heavy hard labour, with a great work ethic.
But, .....
I can still take him, every time in an arm wrestle.
At 23, he can't fathom that technique can out muscle, muscle !
At age 70 I workout at the gym three days a week and walk a mile every day, try to work in a 2-3 mile walk once or twice a week. I've lost 60# and kept it off for more than 4 yrs. with this routine, blood pressure and blood sugar numbers are great too.
Wabigoon: I shake my Noxzema shaving cream can every morning - does that count?
