I’m wanting to take some steel targets with me when I Pdog hunt this year and use them from 600 to 1,200 yards for some practicing.

Unfortunately I never paid attention to the stupid things when people were selling them....

So - given it’s not my range and I need portable stuff, what works ?
I don't know, but you'll save a lot on shipping if you buy from someone local to you.
Academy in Texas sells some different sizes/thickness.

These folks have free shipping when spending over $99.00. They have specials once you get on the email list. They also list in Amazon Prime.

I have bought about $1,000 worth of plates from shootingtargets7. Great folks to deal with and great product! Watch for the holiday specials to save even more.

Plates are easy. Mounting can be cumbersome for a portable unit. Most portable setups are a PITA in my experience.

How do you plan to hang them?

Awesome sawhorse brackets.......

The place I hunt lets you drive over the fields so I plan to drive them to where I want to shoot, set them up then drive back....
No way would I haul them around by hand / pack.

I may go the fence post route and drive a couple in to hold them temp... not sure yet - that’s why I asked

I’m going to check to see what the targets we use at the PRS local range and see if I can find some of them (size shape wise).

Uses the T Post with a unique hanger that makes it easy.
Hang multiples on the same T Post

Very close to my house is some godforsaken BLM land tha isn't even good winter range for big game so I often go there rather than the local range.

I use AR500 targets which have held up to NPt's and TSX's very well. I don't shoot at them closer than 300 yds though.

I use the conduit sawhorse stands, which unfortunately don't appear to be available separately like they use to. I store and carry a 12" and 10" plate, 2x4' stands with conduit, a spray can of paint, etc, in this:

I use a simple 1" angle with a 4" piece of 3/4 pipe welded to the ends. Drive 2 ft rebar in the ground and set it over the rebar.

I really like those T post hangers... thanks !...

Still checking stuff... thanks for all the inputs.

Chit - I just realized I need clangers (things that sense the hit and flash so you know you hit the plate).
Here is another way to use Hang Fast Hangers

Nice... those will handle the wind better
Update -

I found the best pricing BY FAR... Here and ordered a set of 12”, 10”, 8”, 6”. And then a couple extra 12” A500 3/8’s targets from
https://fieldandcaveoutfitters.com/

A lot of the competitive shooters get their targets there.

I ordered a couple T hangers from them, and the as Vinconco said I picked up 4 more Hang Fast hangers...

I’m good now.

I like this idea.
Trophies just take up space, need dusted and memories of the target itself and a pic is enough for most.

"Why not use Steel Targets as Trophies?!?!
If you host competitions and are looking for something different and more useful than a plaque or trophy, give us a call. We can custom print targets to your specification – and probably for the same price or less than you’re currently paying for the “fake wood”.

PS: How was shipping?
