When I think of "real country music", I don't think of mainstream country & western music.
Ther are a couple of music festivals every summer in Westciffe, Colorado. The first is called High Mountain Hay Fever. It's a blue grass festival held in the Cliffs Park on the bluffs west side of Westcliffe. The other is simply called the Western Music Festival. It's held at the Painted View Ranch in the valley west of town. Wife and I go to both every year. A group named the Sons & Brothers Band is a local favorite.
