Bought an 06 Honda Cr-V as a kid / commuter car.

Trying to ascertain for sure if this thing has a timing belt.

Engine is a 4 cylinder 2.3 with 154k miles.

Anybody know?

Anyone have any experience with these engines?

Things I need to do for preventative maintenance?

Chain. Replace at 125K.

I didn't know a timing chain needed replacing. Belts, yes.

listening in, I think my 2004 Element is the same engine. Mine has 84,000 on it. I have heard they are pretty long-lived.

They have solid lifters. The valves need to be adjusted.

It should be a 2.4L with a timing chain, the same engine as an Accord and also the 150hp Honda outboard. It’s an overhead cam, it doesn’t have lifters. You’d be best advised to change oil on schedule and drive it, they’re pretty much bulletproof.

I had a 2008 with the 2.4
We bought in new then sold it to my sister in law. 284,000 on it and never been to the shop

The valve lash specs are on the sticker under the hood.

I wouldn't change it at 125K.
