That's certainly informative. Not.
Why wasn’t someone meeting her as she got off bus.
God bless her!
I pray she is OK

Family members told authorities the last time they saw Swetlik was when she was getting off the bus
in front of her home

So the family lost track of her somewhere between the front of her home and the front door?
Another child gone, she was found dead.

Agreed....
Having been a bus driver, I can’t imagine.

Policy was, you needed to release them (k-1) only when there was a parent or sibling present.

But didn’t the article state the “family lost track of her”. I would be looking closer at that.
She got off the bus, and then, her mother saw her playing in the yard. Then she disappeared.
Cops found the girl's body, and also found the body of a man in the same neighborhood.
Cops won't say if the two are connected.
Cops say the neighborhood has nothing to fear.

I am inferring that the man killed the girl, and then killed himself. Cops aren't saying much yet but I bet more comes out today.
I will never understand how anyone could ever harm a child.
Very sad story...

I've always been for the death penalty....at a cost of a low of $30000 to $60000 money could be put to better use....
I live on a federal highway. Because of the possibility of something like this we never let our girls play outside in sight of the highway. My law enforcement training and close association with the local Sheriff department taught me about how many crazies there are out there. By the time you realize a kid is missing they could be miles down the road.
It’s strange that I haven’t heard about the cause of death - other than it’s considered a homicide.

It is very possible they do not know what the true cause of death was. Might be a possibility someone else was involved and they do not give out details that might hamper them later.
