In NW Iowa it's a fright, warming, ya right, southwest wind strong.
We like a down slope here in the mountains. They are always warm winds.

You knew that was coming.

I had wind, but I broke it.

We get canyon winds here when the cold air up in the mountain bowls flows down the river canyons into the valley. Our house is right near the mouth of one of those canyons, and it is not uncommon to have hurricane-force canyon winds. The worst in memory hit 90 mph and lasted for three days - at near zero temps. Lots of roof damage, trees felled, yard furniture simply vanished, trampolines found from who knows where...
And our next door neighbor state is Windoming.
When it blows your hat off, don't chaise it, just grab the next one on it's way by.
