call of the wild was one of the best books i've ever read.

Posted By: hanco Re: i'll be seeing this - 02/15/20
I’m gonna have to read the book, going to see those liberal corksucker actors doesn’t appeal to me!
Posted By: kid0917 Re: i'll be seeing this - 02/15/20
I also enjoyed the book, pass on the movie though.
Posted By: rockinbbar Re: i'll be seeing this - 02/15/20
I just hope they stick to the book and don't fugg it up with the subliminal (and not so subliminal) liberal indoctrination Hollywood is pushing.

Fat chance on that!

I watched the trailer at the last movie we went to. Looks like total garbage, all CGI there’s not even a real dog. The movie may be better than the trailer led on but the trailer seriously looked like a cartoon.
Posted By: Kenlguy Re: i'll be seeing this - 02/15/20
I've read the book more than once and judging from that trailer, the movie will be nothing like it.

Looks like pretty scenery though.

Isn't that Hand Solo?

Is that a very old Chewy with him? I always thought he was taller....

Can't believe there's many around that haven't already read that book. Seems like most guys my age +/-10 years read it in grade skool.

Fugg if I spend one cent that goes to a Liberal azz like Ford
Posted By: rockinbbar Re: i'll be seeing this - 02/15/20
Just from watching the trailer, the biggest problem I see with it is the computer generated dog.

They cannot get a real dog to look and act like a human, so they had to computer generate it.

That way they get the human facial expressions, emotions, and actions.

Humanization of animals is a huge problem to me. Walt Disney did us no favors.

My wife and I will not go see any raving liberals in movies, no matter how good they are. At least wait until they come out on DVD's so they don't make as much money. They make the most money from the theaters, then TV, then DVD/s.

Actors, sports figures, and musicians, should keep their mouth's shut and make money on both sides of the isle. Keep their politics to themselves.

Someone once asked Elon Musk (Tesla and SpaceX) his politics. He walked the line, he said he was socially liberal, but fiscally conservative. No real answer. Smart move. Someone asked Tom Hanks. He said to not worry about Trump, America swings back and and forth and America will survive. Another smart answer. Harrison Ford recently cursed Trump, so no way. Politely disagreeing is one thing, but cursing, screaming, and constantly complaining about Trump is stupid of these Holywood types.

We studied that book in 7th grade Lit class in about 1951. Great book, have read it a couple times since. Probably ought to drag it down off the bookshelf again.

Haven't been to a movie in many, many years, won't start now.

I too often hope Jews will stop behaving like Jews, or at least leave the White man alone, but in the entire history of their race they have never done that. It seems it is up to us alone to change their impact on us.

Misspent many days of my youth sitting on Jack London's stool at the glenellen inn trying to match his drinking .
Posted By: poboy Re: i'll be seeing this - 02/15/20
I'll watch it on T.V.

I think all of the animal scenes are computer imaging. Buck's facial expressions are too human. Take a look at the black wolf and the caribou toward the end of the trailer. They look really fake.

Trailer does not appeal to me at all.
Looks too fake.
Posted By: KC Re: i'll be seeing this - 02/15/20

It opens here in a week. I'll be taking the grandkids.
Posted By: FatCity67 Re: i'll be seeing this - 02/15/20
Disney made the movie after the got the rights with the 20th Century Fox buyout.

Guaranteed they wont stay true to the story or the historical time frame from London's Perspective.

Grewup in Santa Rosa during the 70's and have fond memories visiting Jack London State Park.
Posted By: GreatWaputi Re: i'll be seeing this - 02/15/20
Fugg Harrison Ford and fugg computer generated cartoon graphics.
Posted By: Birdwatcher Re: i'll be seeing this - 02/15/20
Sucky as it looks, I’ll be going to see it, same as I would if it were a Mountain Man or Western flick.
I literally made it 2 seconds into the trailer and knew I'd hate Ford's completely fake gruff voice. God he's incredibly terrible.
Posted By: whistle1 Re: i'll be seeing this - 02/15/20
I will see it.
Anything Jack London or Robert Service or dogs.
Posted By: jaguartx Re: i'll be seeing this - 02/15/20
I'm not sure this is exactly what London was thinking.

A 77 year old actor, and a fake dog combined into a cartoon,

YGTBFGM.....

Not to mention his recent slam on America and the Trump Train,

No thanks.
Posted By: ol_mike Re: i'll be seeing this - 02/15/20
I just hope there are some special F/X explosions in the movie .

I'd probably enjoy the movie if i were still 10 years old - rethink -make that 8 yrs. old .
Posted By: Flyer01 Re: i'll be seeing this - 02/15/20
Great book as were most of Jack London's

Doubt if I'll watch the movie.

I thought someone else would be the lead , black or transgender or maybe both. LOL

When I was in high school I hated English class because I had to read books I had no interest in and give oral book reports on them. I usually just read the foreword and a few pages of those books and got a C or C- for my book reports. I read "Call of the Wild" from cover to cover and got an A+ for my book report.
