Now I am indeed a despiser of the "chi-coms" - especially the upper echelon chi-coms!
But now they are getting "hit" by an enormous plague of locusts (in the dead of winter?)!
I mean what in the world is next for these billions of chi-coms?
Maybe hordes of illegal Mexicans and Central Americans swarming their borders and applying for welfare?
Sheesh - in a way I feel sorry for them - this coronavirus is not going away quietly or quickly.

Being reduced to eating bats, rats, and cats should maybe be the first clue that your life isn't going the way it could be.
this article, dated today, says that they do NOT have a plague of locusts. It's just warning about them. Parts of Africa, like Kenya and Ethiopia, are definitely being hit by them. The people are in serious danger of starvation.

Chinese agricultural expert warns against risks of desert locusts

BEIJING, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- It is extremely unlikely that desert locusts will directly migrate into China's inland areas, but if the overseas desert locust plague persists, the probability of locusts entering China in the summer will sharply increase, a Chinese agricultural expert said Monday.

The border area between southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region and countries of Pakistan, India and Nepal is a desert locust spreading area, said Zhang Zehua, a researcher at the Institute of Plant Protection of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Due to the limitation of environment, climate and food, desert locusts pose little threat to agricultural production in China, and it is extremely unlikely for them to directly migrate into inland areas of China due to the barrier of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Zhang said.

There are more than 1,000 kinds of locusts in China, including more than 50 kinds of locusts that can lead to disasters, which have posed a serious threat to grain production and grasslands, he said.

China has formed a mature locust prevention and control response mechanism and has established a national four-tier locust monitoring and early warning system, as well as a green and sustainable locust prevention and control technology system, he said.

He suggested the government to coordinate the prevention work in various provinces and regions, carry out real-time monitoring, and prepare sufficient pharmaceuticals and pesticide application equipment while boosting global cooperation to share information and methods in fighting locusts.

Desert locusts are considered as one of the most destructive migratory pests. They can fly 150 km with the wind every day and survive for about three months.
My wife is gone now so I can say this. I absolutely adore oriental wimmen.
Looked this up today, I got two degrees in bugs.

All around the world there are grasshoppers that, when conditions are right, triggered by crowding, morph during their molts into a quite different, highly mobile migratory form. Apparently this hormonal change is triggered by repeated contact with other grasshoppers. Prolonged dry conditions can lead to a reduction in grasshopper populations and their predators, but unseasonably heavy rains in these same areas can cause rapid vegetation growth followed by a grasshopper population explosion, hence they grow up into long-winged, long distance locusts.

Locusts are so bad in Pakistan right now that they have declared a National Emergency. However, for End Time proponents note that the last time this happened this bad in Pakistan was in the 1970's and in Africa IIRC in the 1950's. Meaning it has happened before. Even friggin' England suffered a locust swarm in the 1750's. IIRC Argentina is suffering a locust swarm right now.

The biggest mystery is the major source of our own pre-settlement locust swarms, the Rocky Mountain Grasshopper, is now extinct. Populations used to explode periodically out of the Rocky Mountains. Musta been some dynamic involving high mountain meadows and prairies that no longer exists, but EXTINCTION? for an insect? That's a puzzle.
Charlton Heston put the hex on them commies.
Fireball2: Maybe they can make some kind of Moo Goo Gai Pan or Chow Mein out of those crunchy little creatures and "eat" their way out of this latest predicament?

Birdwatcher: Thank you for those insights.
I learn something most every day - and sadly forget half of everything I learn anymore.
Thanks again.

Yeah, maybe God is trying to send a message to the commie bastids.
Stevelyn: Maybe God is indeed taking revenge on those murderous commies?
If so - fine by me - I do wish the commie-politicos at the top would be at the top of the suffering list.
And this.... I just noticed your Avatar - is that a black power fist jackin'off a lgtbq rainbow ddildo?
I actually burst out laughing at my interpretation of your Avatar.
Interesting that.

Not likely but they have their hands full with a larger threat.
Should be good for our farm exports.

Winning??

I took it to be the communist workers fist. But it's been adopted by several groups in one form or the other with Marxist sympathies, including labor unions and the Black Panthers.

Communists and militant gay socialists uniting.

When you look at the general makeup of ANTIFA, those combined symbols pretty much sums them up.

Here's a good article on it's origins.

The New American-Clenched Fist Salute

Stevelyn: Thank you for your explanation and for the link to that very interesting article.
The article brought back some disturbing memories of the "fight" I was professioned into against the evil SDS and the evil black panther party of the 1960's and beyond.
I worry about the future of this country rather often anymore.
Thanks again.

But vegetation explosions couldnt cause a bug explosion that same year, right? Dont they lay eggs in the ground which over winter?
Do not forget the burning hail.

Each surviving female lays about 100-200 eggs underground but I would expect in a dry year starvation kills most of the developing nymphs, high survival in a wet years. Prob'ly two or three generations a year.
the CCP won't starve
Sse: You touch upon a good point there - the party hierarchy will never strave/suffer/want - the masses may very well do so!
That is another reason "I" hold our Second Amendment in such regard!
History is replete with suffering citizenries who have "given up their rights" to own and bear armaments!
No me.
