You cut off the part about his being commissioned as a navy Lt with no prior service or training. He was a civilian who was just signed up as an officer.
I thought he personally defeated the Taliban, the way he touts his service. How'd you like to have to hot bunk with him on a navy vessel on a long cruise?

That post is dated from January 2017.

Mayor Buttplug's constituents in South bend, lN would have been MUCH better served at the time if his lying, sodomite azz had paid MORE ATTENTION to his city's crime problem.and LESS about Trump's cabinet appointments.

What a sad little deep state WORM he is.

This is the bottom line regarding Buttplugs service. A direct commissioned POG!!!!! Using military service as a resume booster.....nothing more!
Just polishing his resume. A military chauffeur...

Has anybody looked into Dunford's "Don't ask- - - -don't tell" status? Maybe Buttplug wasn't kidding about "serving under" the general!
Jerry

I expect he was a corksucking hero of the first order.

Served with several DIRCOMS who were on recalls to active duty all as Intel officers. Some were really good and were serving for the right reasons and their civilian skills were real boosters to what they brought to the deployment.

Others were pretty much what you say.

Some were a little of both and both served well but were a bit grandiose in what they did. Mark Kirk

Sounds like a good way to find seamen on the sheets.

Wait, what? Seriously. That’s some back door maneuvering.

They're commissioned as Ensigns with an 1830 designator (for Intel) and much like Dr's and Nurses that fall under the same sort of promotion, promoted quickly as they achieve quals to 0-3. The ones we had in the squadron were Lt's and all had at least two prior tours but being in the Reserves their tours are obviously not quite as immersive as being on active duty.

The ones I served with were Senior Industry Engineers and Analysts , GS-15 and SES working in the Intel field or staffers in Intel or Cyber in the House/Senate or like Mark, a Representative and then a Senator. Most had Master degree and experience and insights that a regular active duty LT would have never delivered. The DC program is a good one that doesn't cost the Navy much at all for the experienced gained. As I mentioned in my prior post, some are there to serve and proud of it and others look at it as a check in the resume box and there is everything in between.
As in the last thread about the same subject, that apparently didn't get the desired results, and for those of you just too damned lazy to check. It's all pretty much been out there in the open for a long while.

"clic the pic" for the whole story. His commission without training is magnified.

Smart people join the military to get benefits and to improve resume for particular jobs, public service being notable example. Frankly I see no problems here. Unlike most of the candidates this guy is actually intelligent and will have successful political career.
Back when military service was compulsory, I enlisted at 18 in 1962. Yup, joined the army for three years exactly for the reason outlined above. Never looked back. I was a company clerk in a couple different outfits in the US and in Europe. Lordy, what a ride!
Whiles stranded in the vast sargasso
Just for the time to passo
We started a spree, of buggery
On one another’s assho!

(The Good Ship Venus)

Edit!!

I learned this and many others while serving!
