Just an FYI, there is a fairly good sized auction in Sidney on March 7. Lots of Remington BDL’s, seldom seen chambering’s. Winchester 1873’s and 1876’s.

Just passing it along. I took a picture of the sale bill, pm me and I will text it.

Thanks Viking for the email. 240 miles for me. A couple I would love to at least look at but don't think I have the dollars to buy, like the 222mag.

There was a gent from Sidney that used to frequent Bis/Dickinson gun shows to display his exceptional collection of pre 64's, think I heard he passed some yrs back and there was a sale? He had many of the oddball calibers. Must be the water that Sidney gentleman were smart enough to start collecting yrs back?

It was the late 1970’s-early 80’s oil boom and subsequent oil bust in that country that fueled some Tremendous collections as well as divestiture of same.

Maybe they’ll be the really sweet “BDL” square fore-end version.

He had a full set of jam O-Matic Automag 22mag pistols. You could experience failure to feed in all the available barrel lengths!

As a youngster in my late teens to early 20's I did permit and surveying work for seismic crews off and on from summer of '76 to spring of '79 and spent considerable time in and around Sidney, Culbertson, Plentywood, Williston, Watford etc and there indeed was millions earned and spent in that area. There were holes punched in some areas until it looked like a pdog town.lol Started at $10-25 per hole and when I quit some areas were getting $100 or a bit more. I know Sidney and Williston sure changed a lot in those 3-4yrs. Some landowners made out pretty well, from payment for holes/access to selling water, dozing snow in winter and so forth.

Viking: It's 537 miles for me each way - I will keep an eye on the weather.
Thanks for the heads up.

I bought one of those... Absolutely the WORST pistol I've ever had.. Sent it back to AMT twice to get right.. Always came back and still wouldn't perform... I got lucky - put it up on Gunbroker and sold it quickly to somebody who wanted it worse than I... Poor bastid..

These should bring a premium. Live along with online bidding always makes for a great seller's market.

I too am in the camp of: "I once owned an AMT AutoMag 22Mag, but I didn't own it long". Mine didn't work worth a hoot either.
