While I won't disagree that the area needs a serious cleansing, I think it's important to mention that those countries you mentioned were there as conquers...where we (and the British if you're talking about British influence after the Great Game) are there as liberators. While the problem there persists, I do believe the US has made gains that the other countries didn't.

I don't have much hope, as I think it takes a couple generations to change mindset and politics.
