...Will you take it?
You bet!
you first
YES
Nope.

Haven't taken a flu shot since the last one 44 years ago, either. Screw that.
They do a lot of testing on new vaccines. The drug companies catch a lot of flak, the research costs a lot of money.
I am glad we have them.
It won't be available until this late fall, at the earliest.

By then, we will know a lot more about COVID19 and I could better assess whether the vaccine is a good idea.

There is also a higher probability that no absolute vaccine will be developed, as they have not been successful for any other coronovirus yet to date.
Yep....
With a quickness.

Have had plenty of fugged up shots and pills from unca suga.

Throw the dice one way or the other.
Get shot, virus dont kill ya and grow a horn outta your forehead from some shot side effect possibly.

Or take a chance, catch the virus maybe, and die or survive.

Horn might look cool actually......
The only way is if i was knocked out undergoing some other kind of operation and would not know it.

When i found out i would sue the crap out of them.

Nope
I have had pneumonia three times. Wheezing as I type this. My lungs are screwed up enough as it is, I will be standing in line for the shot.
if its less than $3K

This. It's one reason our life span has essentially doubled in the last 100 years.
Well.......................

duh.

Assuming it's got a better than 25% success rate and no major side effects that is...............

I mean it's not like the gooberment is going to PIT tag me at the same time.....................I hope.

Geno
They will come up with one, and it will be in next years FLU vaccine.

Yes! Not only that, but should we have a second vaccine for a mutated corona virus I would get both the old vaccine and the new. Your immune system is ofttimes partially effective against something it has seen before but it takes exposure which usually means infection to give your immune system any degree of competence. The parts of the virus that do not change will have antibodies from both vaccines fighting the antigen. The immune response to both vaccines does not have to be equal or even comparable. If you get a flu shot for many years chances are much better that if you do get infected the consequences will be much less. An individual vaccine may only be 50% effective. While we do not that I know of have a good handle on how long competence remains when you get a vaccine for several slightly different versions of a virus year after year. We know a great deal more about how long a given vaccine received on a one time basis can produce immune response And we are all familiar with vaccine that need to be boostered and some that just need periodic revaccination.

This virus is likely to be with us for some time and from what I have heard from people like Michael Osterholm. It is mutating which is how they have established it is likely that the corona virus has been circulating in Washington state for about six weeks. The projections of how many people have been infected in that time come from making an assumption about how many people were infected on a given date and then using the R0 number to project the expansion. It is not precise, but it should be close enough to base a plan on. Usually it's done by assuming a minimum and a maximum number of infected as a starting point and then run the numbers to provide a range for how many are infected at a given point down the road.

This looks very much like a situation in which we will have vaccines year after year designed to be effective, just like influenza. Viruses this well adapted to human infection don't often go away.
But but..................

what if it gives me the Autism?

Geno
I just posted an interesting article in the other thread that's speaks to the likelihood of a vaccine being developed.

Nor do they usually appear instantaneously so well-adapted upon their first cross-species infection.

What was going on in that Wuhan Lab anyway?

Uhh.....that doesn't sound so good. I doubt they would even give you the shot seeing that you have no prior exposure/immunity to COVID-19.

Hillarious!

You have a second job doing stand up at the Casinos in Reno, Winnemucca, and Wendover in their clubs? wink The Northern NV circuit tops the Adirondacks now I heard.

No. Not in the mood to be a gov't guinea pig.
I wouldn’t have a choice. Uncle Sam would certainly mandate it for service members.
Just another way for aliens to chip and track you. No.

Same here.
Wife is in the healthcare business. She heard the earliest we could see a vaccine is late July early August as long as all goes well and it flies through testing
I have never had a flu shot. Guys at work say they get the shot and with in 30 days miss a few days of work because they have the flu. I just need to live another 6 weeks and beaver season will be over...….
I used to never get the flu shot - then one year I got the flu - damnnnear killed me, I I get it every year - don't get sick, and if I get exposed to flu virus it's no where near as severe as full blown flu.

Yeah, I'll get the shot - bet the VA will have them for free.
Highly likely. I'm supposed to be in China right now, but plans changed. I'm hoping to get back over there soon, but that's looking like August at this point.
Heart Failure survivor here. Yes I'd take it.

They've never developed a "permanent" vaccine for a coronavirus, as they continually mutate and adapt. Any vaccine will most likely be much later than August, and only effective against former strains of COVID-19.

Most likely with what we know now, this will be a new human virus that circulates around the world every season in perpetuity.

Take my wife...

PLEASE

ta-da-ta-dump...
I get Flu shots every year. I don't much mind the Government mind control, or the sexual changes, but the compulsion to write checks to the Democrat party every month is breaking me down.
Bumping this up. After going through things for about 7 weeks since I posted the question, wondering if thoughts have changed.

Only if it contains a microchip to track my movements and biometrics.
I don’t take shots from folks that want the world population reduced to about a hundred million. So no.

Me neither. When the temps get to a pretty steady 85+ I think you'll see this COVID virus shrivel up and go away.
Ever read what they put in vaccines to "stimulate" the immune system? I already have an autoimmune issue. Don't care for more. Couldn't pay me to get a vaccine these days. I'll take the virus and natural immunity. Thanks very much.
Yes
Roughly 31% of the population gets a flu shot. Fuggers wearing masks around here that you know their house is full of cat shhitt, wearing the same gloves all day, scratching their ass, itching their eyes. Yeah, they'll get immunized.
I want Jenny McCarthy to give me my Covid shot.

Truth.

Use of flu vaccines is not without risk. You have to consider the small chance the vaccine could kill you or leave you permanently impaired versus the risk to you of the flu. For some people the vaccine is the best bet. For most it is not, but you won't get that from your lying government.
I’d take it twice if they let me. Agree...it will be in the flu vaccine this year.
Hell no. I’ve had 1 flu shot in the last 40+ years. I do what u always do. Eat a balanced diet, keep clean, avoid people and places during cold season and suck it up if I get sick. The govt can keep their vaccines and shots.
I’d go with DocRockets advise on this.
If he says I should get one—I will.
Only if it doesn't have nano bots that make me vote for Biden.
In a heartbeat!!!!
No,I have a mind of my own and will use it to refuse any injection of foreign chemicals.

I’m with you.
Unless they are saying huge side effects, I’m getting the shot.
Not interested in being the “tough guy” on these kinds of matters.

A lot of people have bought into this hook, line, and sinker.
It’ll be a little digital time release capsule that’s connected to your phone. When it gets low, it will alert you to the nearest pharmacy.

It’s just a little data. No biggie.
I'm usually not one to turn down a shot...Jack, Maker's, Blantons, yep. COVID Killer on the rocks, not so sure.
Bumping this thread. Wonder if minds have been changed.

Oh yeah, lol.

I,d be first in line the number of shots I have had in my life time numbers between 50 and 70. Never had a side effect from any of them

and some of them were experimental that the military gave us, and they did no harm. Everyone just needs to suck it up, put your big boy pants on and take

like a man for grandpa and grandma.
Depends. I may and I may not. Les likely now then in March 2020. know more about the vaccines and more about the actual mortality rate of the virus.

In March we had a phony need for 10 of thousands of ventilators. They lied to us and over reacted. The virus is serious, but it does not appear to be as serious as we initially thought.

The vaccines still worry me because they are new biotech.

The vaccine will not be available in large quantities in the US for a long time to come.
Nope.
Hell yeah, bring it on. I’ll be first

DickTuck,

Is there anything you're not afraid of?

Pussy excluded.

LOL
yes

I,m afraid of lots of things, I put my big boy pants on and overcome it. What you do, why are you afraid of a little old shot. It

can,t more than kill you. Take it like a man. Show the rest of your family how tough you are.

I'd start by not being skeered of falling off ladders...

With what I know today YES. So what if it kills you ? If not this it will be something else. No one will live as long as they think they should.

Check out the benefits in the after life. You might be missing something.
This so called COVID-19 vaccine is not a vaccine that is related to COVID-19 at all. It just contains some kind of bug that will boost your immune system to fight any type of infection.

Well...in his defense....it did make him autistic....
Man, I'm glad I've got this forum to come and get technical info on the latest developments in biotech/pharmaceutical industry, otherwise I'd never know the CPVID 19 vaccine (which exact one?) contains "some kind of bug - - - " Anyway, yeah, I'll get the vaccine, which ever one is offered by my physician, whenever it gets here.
It was not a Phony need for Ventilators. The Government and Doctors actually thought we need them. They shot a little high.

Better to have to many than not enough. My understanding those extra ventilators many have been sent to foreign countries

That are short ventilators. So overall it saved lives just no American lives. The vaccine will be available March and April.

But Doctors and Nurses will start getting it in January, People in day care homes get it right after the Doctors.

Hey buck sergeant from the nasty guard.. why don’t you tell that to people who refuse to get a flu shot every year.. You know that shot that’s free99.

Got a friend on a ventilator now(66 no previous medical issues)

Sign me up for the vaccine
I'll pass...doesn't seem right for me to get it. Seems like old and sick people are the only ones who really suffer from this thing, so they can have first crack at it. Then there's all those poor souls who have lived in terror for the past year, fearing at every moment that they may be infected as they browse through the grocery store buying essential bonbons and soda, knowing they'll have to come back again in a day or two, putting themselves at severe risk again to keep their families fed.

What about all the folks driving around in their cars, or walking in the open air, wearing masks? What a burden that must be! I couldn't think of getting a vaccine shot while those poor delusional souls wander around without. And what about kids? Those little hooligans need to get back to school so mamma can day drink again instead of having to raise and educate their own children like some kind of peasant. Vaccinate the little buggers, I'll suffer on a little longer. Then there's healthcare workers, those brave souls who make dance videos while facing almost certain death, give or take 99%. Politicians need it for sure, we've seen that clearly we are lost without their leadership. The media must all have it, lest we be left without information and "news", and perhaps be forced to think for ourselves. Basically everyone else needs it more than me, and being the selfless, sacrificing person that I am, I am happy to be a martyr for the cause. No thanks necessary.

By the time I will get around to qualifying for the vaccine (not old, not sick, and work and live in the sticks), there'll be quite a bit of time passed to expose any "bugs" in the vaccines. Plus the China Crud will have probably run it's course by then. So hardly worth prevaricating about. From what I can find out, though, the technology of these mRNA vaccines is really interesting.

It sure ruins all those Hollywood movies like "outbreak" where they whip out a vaccine in three days.
I remain amazed (though I guess I shouldn't be) at how utterly trusting so many people are of government.

Nope, still not gonna take the mark. Not under ANY circumstances.

Uncle Sam isn't going to give me much of a say in the matter, but I'd still take it of my own accord if it was optional.

Great post!
Funny thing,,, with all the research advancements, technology advancements and m9ney advancements think about this
They have been battling a cure for cancer for let’s say 75+yrs no cure and u get chemo and radiation for treatment, not even a 50% vaccine or treatment to take to prevent 50% of cancer. But chem o and radiation very profitable for healthcare
Covid 19 hits first part of 2020 and in 10 months or less we had a vaccine getting testing and almost ready to release.
How can you not think this isn’t bigger? How can you not believe they didn’t do this on purpose
Covid 19 vaccine,, cold day in h___ only reason is if my employer makes me.
Cancer prevention pill,, would take in a heart beat,
Guess which problem I’m more scared of

I've been very critical of the leaky non-sterilizing mRNA treatments. The FDA had to literally change the definition of Vaccine in August of 2021 to get them approved as such.
The FDA changed the definition of vaccine on August 26, 2021. I was going from memory, but here's a citation.
