I think we need a list of great hunting movies. I just watched The Ghost and the Darkness (1996) - decent movie.

One of my favorite movies is Jeremiah Johnson (1972).

Another great one is Dersu Uzala (1975).

There's also The Last Safari, '67 and Will Penny, '67, but I haven't seen either of those yet,

Any others y'all would recommend?

The Condemned (2007), kind of falls into this category. Except the hunted were humans.

The hunting scene in “Bambi” was pretty good.

I enjoyed that one when it came out.

Around the time it was released I was playing college football....I think it was my Jr year. I played Mike linebacker and I'm white as a sheet...I glow in the dark, get sun burnt if I walk outside without a shirt under a full moon. The guy who played Sam linebacker was so black his teeth and eyes glowed in the dark. Teammates thought it was funny to call us the Ghost and the Darkness.

The Naked Prey, was also great for it's day. Politically incorrect for today of course. The native chief hunter looked like Fred Sanford.

MILF Hunter 6 was good. You don't need to see 1 thru 5 to understand the plot.

Predator.

Dersu Uzala! If you liked the movie, get the book! 😉

What was the Robert Taylor movie about buffalo hunting? The Last Hunt?

Liked it when I was a kid.

What about Trader Horn? Where the film crew actually had to kill animals! And the ol’gal that was suppose to be the White Princess caught some jungle sickness on set that ruined her career/life.

Or for Teal, I recommend "Trader Horny"

Harry Black and the Tiger with Stewart Granger. He is a PH hunting a problem tiger in India. Handles his double rifle quite well.

Another vote for Harry Black and The Tiger, especially for double rifle loons. Same for Macomber Affair, Mogambo, Snows Of Kilimanjaro,

I saw one in the theatre called "Tundra". Would have been about 1979 or 1980. It was a whole series of different hunts on the big screen, no actors. Really enjoyed it, but I was only in 4th grade.

Now there is a blast from the past, Shaggyks. Haven't thought of that movie (and song) for ages. Although, I think it's more of an anti-hunting movie.
