My sister and her husband are both nurses at hospitals that have had covid19 patients, I’ll be spending considerable amount of time at their house watching their 4 kids throughout this I’ll be exposed to it just as much as you.
Working on buying a farm next to a friend’s and get back to growing, raising and hunting my own food, and putting extra back for the less prepared who are useful allies. Don’t expect Trump to save us, would like to hang most of the rest of them, past and present. Convinced the only liberty we will have in the future is the same we had in the past- the degree of it that we get up and take for ourselves. Due to a whole lot of factors, I have been a lifelong skeptic of most statements, writings and people in general.
That has of course been in constant conflict within the frame work of my belief in an all knowing and all powerful deity who I am doing my level best to be a servant of.
So even when folks would come to church and proclaim they'd now been changed, I was the guy in the second last pew with my arms folded thinking "Well we'll see..."
Couple or maybe even quadruple that with the fact that numbers have always "made sense" to me so I'm able to deduce with relative speed - used to be quicker though for sure - but when some are proclaiming a "coincidence", I'm the guy crunching the probability of this being a random occurrence, you know?
Reading back over your question and my response, I suppose perhaps like my cyber friend Jim, I'm not really in either category.
I believe that there's a sovereign God in control, but most days including at present have no idea what the greater plan is. Can't begin to envision it really and truly.
My task, as I understand it today, is to try to learn from what's put in my path and to hopefully be a better version of me than I was yesterday.
If I get "called home" in the gentle Christian parlance or "buy the farm/bite the big one" in Saskatchewan speak - well sir I'm honestly at peace with that option too.
Of course I'll fight it, because I believe that's what I'm both called to do and it's human nature after all, but all of us have an expiration date and honestly as I've said many times, I've been blessed far beyond anything I could have ever done to deserve it.

This is really no difference from anything else. Here is what I believe......it is something that we need to take serious, but not something that's going to wipe out mankind. Some people are going to be more at risk than others, and should be wise and take precautions. Democrats like to use things like this to make people more reliable on them and government, while Republicans look at it as an opportunity to make some money and to try not to panic the populace. I also believe that things like this should serve as a wakeup call for everyone to learn to be self-reliant, and be prepared for emergencies.
Government says I can't work, so I'm semi-holed up on my 40 acres, (went steelhead fishing yesterday afternoon, almost certainly will again in the near future) picked up some spirits yesterday and am currently looking at load data because I just realized that I'm nearly out of .44 Special ammo. My wife is inside the house, homeschooling the kids just like every weekday for the last 8 years.

I have moved fro the middle of the road to the awkward camp. Let me explain, huge rural county the same size as the state of Hawaii. 2 tiny hospital of very limited services. The I-5 corridor splits the county, it was inevitable that covid would hit here. Authorities yesterday finally confirmed we have 2 cases, withheld all other info. Nobody wants their names and addresses so we can burn a cross on their lawn or tar and feather. We want the circumstances of their infection so we can make informed decisions for our own health...that's all. But the authorities cite the HIPPA act to preserve patient rights. So they refuse to tell us, gas station employee?, food service? retail clerk?, recently returned traveler? health worker? Nothing forthcoming so we can asses our own exposure to a possible point of intersection. I don't believe in anarchy or the Lord of the Flies culture but this is political correctness fascism in spades.
All I saw was a hack journalist w/ no basis in knowledge of the subject of which he chose to bloviate. I think we are seeing a new problem aggravated by global travel and sensationalized by a media empowered by the people they should serve.
Our govt.'s overriding mandate is to keep our citizens and way of life safe. This threat, as currently perceived, is a new one and is being addressed w/ novel attempts at a solution, but is being addressed w/ great vigor. What some consider draconian measures can be altered to adapt to future developments.
There is no handbook for handling a pandemic but this occurrence could help us prepare for a more serious problem in the future. I don't have many answers but do doubt if assigning labels and taking sides is useful.
I also believe that this author is a member of the elitist media that is the single largest cause of panic and dissension. Now is the time to be promoting calm and unity but the MSM does not serve the common good.
