Just saw this on the news. Apparently there is a fad out there for upper middle-class housewives to build little cabinets in their subdivision front yards, and stick used books in there for people to take or exchange. Since the coronavirus ended the world, they have been stocking them with food for people to take or donate to.

These people obviously live in a higher class place than me. If anyone did that around here, it would be cleaned out of food within an hour and somebody would spit a wad of Red Man into it.

There are always plenty of people to ruin any good intentions.

The town Library that the wife runs is closed to folks coming in the building.

They can get online or ask at the door for the books or services they need and they will be waiting for them.

So far all we have in town is idiots.

We’ve got a bunch around here. Not in “high roller” neighborhoods. Kids like them, parents like them.

Sorry sharing books offends you. Don’t know if they have them in trailer parks yet for sharing meth.

I live in about as remote country as you can get in the lower 48 and we have them in the most random places. I have a 3 year old daughter and we take summer time walks to our closest one so she can pick out books. We really have a great time and I'm very apperceive to those that made it happen.

I put in several JOC books and some great hunting books...maybe it will spur a young man to get into the sport

Oh, I'm not offended in the least, just seems like an activity that would be susceptible to attracting some snooty twatts. And based upon your response, I'm at least partially correct.

Glad to see some normal people are using and enjoying them. It is a good idea if people don't abuse it. It would definitely get abused here.

Living in a White neighborhood does have its advantages.

We don't have what you describe but there is a small book exchange at our country post office.

Ah, but you miss out on all the good barbecue joints. And drive-bys.

You are an idiot. Where I live is almost totally white, and I promise you something like that here would be a disappointment to the good soul that started it. Like a lot of rural areas in this nation, the combination of welfare and drugs has created a dynamic where lazy, immoral, thieving schitbirds. can afford to live in places other than big city projects. As a result, these rural areas now are infested with low class, illiterate and stupid people. White people.

So, ideas like this, that would be embraced and participated in by the good people of the area, are a no go because of a few schitbirds, whom the government enables to infest our area, and the cops make sure they stay by standing between us and them. Now don’t get me wrong, I am utterly certain that such things as these mini libraries would not last in a black neighborhood in St. Louis, either. But anyone thinking there aren’t schitbirds in the white areas is a damn fool who needs to get out more.

Our local Rotary Club sponsors the Little Free Libraries in our area. The local fire district has partnered with them to place the libraries at our fire stations.
