The 508 in the photo is one of the finest steakhouses in the city. Minneapolis for a northern city is doing a pretty good job. I go to several large trade shows there each winter. No flies on Minneapolis.
I'll agree that there's some schitty areas in Minneapolis, but the Twin Cities metro area as a whole is pretty nice.
Quarantined with or without its twin?

Once a year we go to the RV show at the Convention Center.. But nobody goes downtown at night any more unless they're with a group and/or are heavily armed... I've never been to the "508", but if it beats "Mannys" it must be something...

Too bad it's gone so far downhill - but that's mostly due to the former police chief Bosa who said, 'we don't have a gang problem in MPLS'... Yeah, right.. The stories I hear now from residents of MPLS say otherwise - and even the natives stay away from downtown after dark..

First girl I ever dated lived about 3 houses south of Dupont and Lake.. She was OUTstanding - and I still wonder if she's OK and doing well.. The TC was fun back then.. Now - not so much.. Sad, that..

Was hoping you’d see this, Lee!
I live in the burbs but I rarely go inside the loop.
I've only been to the airport and the mall, I think it was a bit better than Nigeria by comparison laugh

Used to go to the Supercross back in the 90's every year.

Mother's friend had a place downtown - visited once. Realized I could see the parking ramp where they filmed the scene in Fargo that the old man got shot for the ransom money.

Rather not go back for any reason.
By and large all cities are schiff holes, some are just worse than others. The more liberal the city is, the worse the living conditions for the poor. Yet the dumbasses keep voting dumocrat.
Well, at least they didn't have an earthquake.

They used to have a buffet joint in Minneapolis called the Viking. It was good. I wonder if it is still in business.

St Louis is already under a shelter in place order
The Twin Cities were one of the most wonderful metropolitian places I had ever been to when I move there in 79...

its nothing like that now, compared to what it was....

my job the first 5 years there, I got to know the metro area REAL WELL....
saw its worst and saw its best....

nowadays there is a lot less of 'their best'

and its worse has grown quit a bit...
I moved to the Twin Cities from another schiethole, Youngstown, Ohio 30 years ago. I can count on my hands with several fingers left over the number of times I've been down town. It's good place to stay away from, especially for a bumpkin like me. We moved up to the Brainerd area and have never looked back.

When my wife was in tone of the St. Paul hospitals for a brain bleed I saw the crap there. From the hospital window I watched the dealers selling to cars that pulled up and bought. Right from there my 30-06 encore could have cut down the druggies. Schitt hole! Ed k
It ain't that bad.

If only.....
I see it once a year, doing 80mph on I-94 at about 2am, blowing through without stopping on my way to NoDak for ducks. Seems like a fine place.
