It seems that if you adhere to “social distancing”, do not have contact with anyone to or from the fishing location....this is ridiculous! Someone enlighten me as to how, fishing can potentially spread the virus! memtb
Link?
Them cajuns dont want you giving it to the fish.
Don't feel alone - WA took this stance several days ago. "Fishing can spread thedisease."
They don't want their enforcement officers coming into contact with people.
memtb, I think the kind of "social distancing" needing for fishing is what I used to see in Delaware and Maryland . Most of the bridges and river banks were usually occupied by "darkies" shoulder to shoulder.
Maybe that's what the regulation is about.
Bubba is going to do the right thing and social distance by going fishing.

On the way, but making a stop for gas and a can of chew. Next stop is for bait. And the liquor for a 6 pack of Bud.

THAT is why. People are not taking it seriously.
Southern Idaho has quite a few reservoirs on BLM land. While campgrounds are closed, we're still free to use public land for recreation. There's lots of good fishing in those waters.
Going to the pond Friday and Saturday between Turkey hunts.

All three of us. Me, myself and I. I’ll be in good company.
Utah closed state parks, which includes almost all our lakes, except that you can go to a park in your own county. The assumed reason is to prevent most in-state travel, but it sure limits our fishing access. My favorite lake has two marinas; the south one is on a county line, so I can launch there - but not at the north marina, which is inside the next county. Nutso? You betcha.

There are no similar restrictions on golf, paradoxically.
Well it seems that some fishermen that were over protective of their favorite fishing hole were taking advantage of the pandemic, & if their favorite spot got too crowded they would start coughing, sneezing, etc. Other fishermen fearing the worst would leave.

This, crying wolf thing got so bad that officials are unable to tell who had the virus & who didn't. So before this got out of hand, they decided to postpone all fishing until a later date.
SC closed all public boat ramps yesterday

Which makes it a great time...to go fishing. With a 12 pack even.
I should go fishing this week, stripe bass and crappie come a mile up from the river into the creek on daddy’s place. Several 6ft deep holes, talk about fishing in a barrel!!!

Private land , both sides of the creek, mr green jeans nowhere to be found.
no shore fishing here, but you can still go in the boat.
Virginia closed all State Parks and campgrounds[private included].
The campground closure was apparently done to keep the folks from NY,NJ,Conn from stopping here after Florida and Georgia started turning them around.
Are they refunding license money?
It’s about time to get boat out, get it cleaned out!
Surely this cannot be true? It is April 1st
Not seeing anything on DWF website. Do you have a link to this???

Lots of luck stopping them from fishing. Might as well try to stop them from drinking beer. Hasbeen

Whooaa!

Bad dude, bad dude.
It’d be a dumb sonofabitch that tried to harass anyone for fishing these days.

Short of *blatant* violations, give a wave and move on.
When is the order coming for dimocraps to stop having sex?

More than a few places have outlawed it including statewide.
They don't want the fish to get sick.

I know. Mine included.
I'm a simi retired commercial fisherman and my son runs the fishing business and boats now. We fish out of Griffins seafood in Leeville Louisiana and there's been no commercial fishing for 3 weeks. The largest seafood market is in New York City and that's been shut down for awhile. There's no need in catching them if you can't sell them. This China flu is a bad deal for a lot of self - employed individuals in a lot of different businesses.
a popular fishing spot was closed in Mich, because after repeated warnings, the lovely fisherman would not adopt reasonable measures...so now that particular location is closed to all. i hope that doesn't continue
